I will admit I was expecting something very different when I ordered this bear. I was expecting something like the old-fashioned jointed bears you used to be able to find years ago. Still, loving bears, I gave him a try. I cannot say enough how beautiful this bear is! When they say in the product description that you'll fall in love with him the first time you pick him up they aren't misleading you! I was incredibly impressed with the quality of this little guy. He isn't a thrown-together stuffed toy that looks like it will fall apart after a few days or weeks of cuddling and hugging. He is well sewn and not overstuffed so he is amazingly cuddly. His fur is SO soft and silky you can't help but want to pet him. They eyes, nose, and black paw pads are stitched securely so they aren't something I would worry about with small children. The quality construction overall makes him a teddy I wouldn't mind giving to a young child. He can sit upright--and he actually stays in place! The way he is designed, he doesn't want to tip over to the side, front or back. I keep him sitting on my dresser when I'm not home and I've not come home a single time and found him slumped over or even leaning. He can also lay flat and his body still has the same smoothness and cuddliness as he does when he is sitting. His fur is not snowy white but instead an off white/creamy beige color. I like this choice of coloring because it almost gives him an antique look which is beautiful. He has a very elegant, old-fashioned look and feel to him. Everything is so expensive these days and there are times it may be hard to rationalize spending a bit more for a stuffed bear. However, if you have a child who loves polar bears (or even if you're an adult who loves stuffed toys and bears!!) Antonio is worth the purchase price. The amount spent will come back in the happiness someone will get from him and how long he will last. His quality construction and materials make him a toy that could most definitely end up becoming an heirloom toy. He certainly will win the heart of anyone he is given to as a gift!
