As far as I can tell, this bread keeper works like it says it does. I used to keep my bread in the fridge, and it definitely got stale faster than it does in this plastic breadbox. The downside is that I now have two plastic breadboxes sitting on my counter, and I have to look at them. (No, there’s no place to put them away. I live in a tiny house that was built way before tiny houses were cool.). If you do the thing where you pull the bread bag down over the outside of the container so the bread stays at the top, it’s even less attractive. Luckily my kitchen was redecorated in the nineteen seventies in a nightmare of orange tile, so a thing has to be really seriously ugly to stand out. In case anyone’s wondering, I have both sizes of the breadbox mostly because when I ordered, the small one had a shipping date in the far distant future and I half expected I’d never get it at all, so I bought the big one as a stopgap. I almost always buy small loaves of bread, which fit neatly into the small size container. If I bought normal size loaves, which I do sometimes, I’d have to use the larger container, which is sized for the amount of bread you need if you have a flock of kids who all pack sandwiches for lunch every school day. Mostly the large container just stands around and looks like something that should be put away somewhere, except it’s too tall to fit in my cabinets and there’s no space for it in there anyway. I guess I’m saying that I wish there were a medium size that had the width of the large size but wasn’t so tall. Whatever. The bottom line is that these breadboxes do seem to keep bread fresher, so if that’s what you want to know, I vote yes.

This is the perfect size for Artesano loaf of bread and it can stand under my cabinet perfectly. I bought the larger one but it was way to big for this bread.

I'm a "keep it in the fridge" sort of bread person. I'm really surprised how this box keeps bread fresh and mold-free on the counter. So surpised, in fact, that I've ordered one of every shape and size, including two for buns. (Hamburgers and hot dogs are eaten pretty frequently around here. Yum!)

The bread went moldy faster than it does in just the bag... But they're good for keeping the bread from getting squished.

It's smaller than I expected, you barely can fit a loaf of bread in it and a small loaf, at that. No rye or multi-grain bread. And, since a small loaf has to squeeze into it, it doesn't slide up to bring the slices to the top (like it's supposed to). It will keep whatever you can fit into it fresh, though.
