  • Great fillet knife... for those who never liked the idea of cleaning fish
Style: Fillet Knife
Luckily for me, I had family members who could clean fish. This was a trait I never bothered picking up til late in life. I've caught thousands of Crappies over the years. I released most of what I caught and gave others to friends who went with me. The idea of cleaning them seemed to much trouble. It wasn't until friends started begging me to have a fish fry, the thought of filleting them entered my mind. Since I had one expensive unused fillet knife, I figured I would trying filleting a few Crappie this way. Even though the knives were sharp (I bought a second knife), for me there had to be a better way. I started thinking electric fillet knife, but when I found out they made a cordless one...this was even better. I bought the Bubba Cordless Pro version on sale with the 4 blades. Honestly I fought I will use the other 3, since I bought it for Crappie. I guess I can use it also for turkey or ham around Christmas. Anyway the learning process wasn't bad after watching numerous Youtube videos. I jumped in and tackled 40 fish over 2 days. The process was slow starting out for me, but as I got comfortable I moved faster. Even after all that, I wasn't completely happy, so I kept reading suggestions in reviews. Several reviewers suggested using Mr. Twister blades, which I found for around little over $9 at Academy. These blades are stainless steel and far nicer than the Bubba Blades. I suggest cutting with the Bubba Blade first, so you can really appreciate the smoothness of the Mr. Twister when you use it. The Mr. Twister certainly let's you get the most out of your fillets and it's also easy to make that V cut around the rib cage. After cleaning over a 100 Crappie to date, I can say the Cordless Bubba with Mr. Twister blades can even make me look like a pro at filleting. *The diagonal cut they suggest when cleaning Crappies is by far the best way to clean Crappie in my opinion(the fish innards pretty much stay intact, you can discard it all with the carcass in one toss. ... show more

  • Overly Satisfied, must have fillet Knife!
Style: Fillet Knife
The media could not be loaded. Must have for every fisherman! Recent purchase and first use today! I caught a few perch, crappie, and bluegill. I used the 7 inch flex blade. I’m right handed, and often mess up filleting when the spine of the fish is facing away from me. I am overjoyed using the Bubba Pro Series knife! These fish took less than 30 minutes to fillet. I believe the Bubba knife saved half the time it would normally take to fillet this amount of fish. The fillets have more meat than I would have done using my other standard fillet knives I have. I have lower back issues and cleaning fish often aggravates this issue, not Today! No pain, my gain! I’m looking forward to a follow review in the future! ... show more

  • He couldn’t believe we got this for him
Style: Fillet Knife
Bought this as a retirement gift for my dad, not really knowing that it’s the Rolls Royce of fish knife cutting things. But apparently it is 🤷♀️ he couldn’t believe we got it for him and tried to get us to send it back because in his words it was too nice. Claims it’s what all the other fishermen use at the marina’s to clean their fish. We’ve noticed he switched out the blades with a different kind but he loves the case it came with and the fact that it’s rechargeable. (Side note- if you’re like me thinking you should buy this rechargeable model because in your head it’ll be good for your fisherman to just dump the innards out on the water so they don’t have to deal with the smell, you can’t do that. You can only clean fish on land [maybe you can on freshwater but not on saltwater]) ... show more
