I noticed a few living worms, they look like babies, which makes sense. I've been told worms lay some of their eggs at the bottom of their containers when they're farmed, and that's where the castings are collected from. You should keep it hydrated as you're mixing it to potentially save some of the worms that are in there. I was just hoping the biology inside wasn't that degraded, I didn't expect it to be so high quality. I can't think of a better place to get something like this, it's a great value. It really does give soil more structure and it does help for water retention. I still love fish compost and I'll use both still, worms apparently eat compost so hopefully they'll survive for a while off that. They make anything they eat way better for the soil instantly, and they can eat their own castings several times. Definitely impressed with the product. ... show more

I appreciate the absolute quick delivery of the worm castings! When I opened the bag the product was rich and dark without any debris. There was no off, foul, or disgusting odor. I am very pleased with the appearance and texture of this product. I have not had it long enough to assess how well it will work on my plants, but it appears to be just what I need to help them along. I used to have my own worm farm, as soon as I opened the bag, I could tell this was 100% “Black Gold”. The richness is unparalleled, and the texture is fine. It is nutrient dense and moist. It can compact which requires the use of perlite to prevent compression. There is no unpleasant or overpowering odor, just an earthy scent. It can be applied as a top dressing, mixed into potting mixes, or used as a component in compost tea. I mix my worm castings with moisture control garden soil, coco coir, and perlite. It has worked wonders in my garden. I would add extra worm castings to my plants once a month and for some I have done once every two weeks. So far, I have had all my plants producing loads of fruit. There is no doubt my harvest this year will be super productive, and that these castings will keep some of my indoor plants fruiting year-round. The price is worth it, there are no additives or foreign materials in this bag, just 100% Worm poop! Which all your plants will love! The bag does contain 30Ibs, which at first, I thought was a lot since I was using it in growing containers at home but when I started to use it in outdoor gardening, I quickly realized I would need more to cover my raised beds. I’ve bought this twice now, super easy to use I just mix it in with my soil when repotting or as needed. I’ve seen a lot of new growth in my plants since using it. Pretty good value for the size.

Smells like strong work castings, have been using for a little while and it seems to be working as intended. Other than a delivery hiccup, interactions were great with the company. I had to contact them about the issue, but they sent a replacement right away and made the delay process very minimal. I would definately recommend for your work casting needs. ... show more

In Central FL, stuff works great to give plants a good start in all the sand! We use it for all of our landscaping and it really gives them that boost-saves $$ to avoid lost of plants, palms, bushes etc. Honestly, I didn't taste it but gave it one star anyway!
