There comes a time when not having to bend over and struggle with lacing up shoes almost becomes a necessity. Finding slip on shoes that are affordable becomes the next obstacle. These solved the problem for me, having a nice wide elastic band to make it easy to slip on, even over heavy socks. The lining is comfortable and more importantly, warm. These are serving as a casual dress shoe for winter wear and are filling that role well. The soles have enough traction on snow but without the deep lugs that pick up gravel. They do not have any instep support and are quite flat so I added insoles which I do to virtually every shoe I own so not an obstacle for me. It may be for you. The Bad: These were great for 1 month, then the little finger loop at the rear top of the left boot which is used to pull the boot on tore off while putting it on. I didn't pull particularly hard on it, it just apparently wasn't attached well enough. Without it, it's kindof difficult to pull it onto my foot. I had only worn them maybe 10 times at that point. The Good: Comfortable and warm. Good traction in the snow. Waterproof so far. EDIT: The seller has sent me a replacement pair which are fine and I'm upgrading my rating to 5 stars. This is the best winter shoes that I have bought so far. Even when it was so cold outside, my toes didn't hurt like my other winter shoes. The insulation is very good. It is really good for walking and very light weight.

I don't like to write scathing reviews so that will not happen. I like to concept of the boot and when I got it to my feet it had a lot of inside overlaps which create wear points on your foot. I am a barefoot person by nature and have been my entire life and so this type of shoe would be a barefoot shoe for me. It's important that you know the bias when you know the result. If somebody was to wear socks maybe that wouldn't be such a wear point but it was for me. It says that it's a barefoot shoe and I can appreciate that but typically a barefoot shoe has a wedge wide at the top and a little bit narrower towards the heel. People that are barefoot or flip-flop people find that their feet start to widen back to their natural God created shape and putting them in shoes especially ones that are restrictive along with socks it reshapes your foot. When your foot goes back to relax to its natural state then you'll notice that shapes do actually matter. If a person's foot is shaped like this one is then it'll fit but for me my toes are wider at the front of my foot then my heel is wider and this did not fit that need. I did buy a slight oversize and it still had tight spaces. The big no for me was not so much the heat or cool because I run hot anyway The big no for me was just the wear factor on the inside so we ended up returning them. For the record I do not live in a warm climate and I wear flip-flops year round whether they're snow or ice or not. I have foot challenges and compression of socks in a normal state or just shoes causes pretty severe pain. You may get them and try them and like them I think the bottom of them is constructed well and I think that they could grip good enough in snow slick ice may be a bit of a challenge so just be cautious on that end.
