I always have troubles buying shoes due to a bump on my heel and every once in a while I read copy that makes me willing to try a shoe. These are OK - it took ma about four days of about four hours a day inside to be relatively certain of that before wearing outside which would have made it hard to return them (for me). These are one of the best pairs of dress shoes I've ever had my entire life. Was looking for vegan dress shoes, and am not 100% sure these are 100% vegan, but I think they mostly are. They look dressy. I've gotten lots of comments on them. Some people have even thought they looked like military dress shoes. They are similar, but different. Very easy to take care of. My son is so happy with these shoes. He wears them with his Civil Air Patrol dress blues and they are perfect. They arrived in time for the state wing conference so the first time out wearing them was from 11 am to 9 pm, then the next day 7am to 9pm. He had NO complaints, said they were as comfortable as tennis shoes. The cadets were in class but also out practicing drills for hours. I compared them to his previous pair of dress shoes made by Rothco and one of the differences I noticed was the spring in the heel. These have some give when pushing down on the inside of the shoe into the heel. The Rothco brand has a rubber heel, but the welt is solid and hard so there is no give beyond the insole of the shoe. As for the arch support, my son has flat feet so minimal support is best for him, shoes with a high support are incredibly uncomfortable for him. In case you're wondering, he doesn't have pronated ankles or fallen arches. The doctor said there wasn't anything that needed to be done, that's just his feet and the various remedies to "fix" only hinder him. That said, I don't know how these would fit or feel to a person with a moderate to high arch, don't see why a support couldn't be added. ... show more
