Bruder is a great brand, and our family loves it's innovation and attention to detail for toys. My four year old wanted a logging tuck for Christmas more than anything- which surprisingly there aren't a lot of large quality options available. We of course found this Bruder option and ulitmately decided to go with it. This is a great toy, it is well made and solid. Our one complaint is that it isn't as intuitive as other Bruder trucks. For example, it comes with 3 logs (why not 4 to fill the truck bed?), the grapple is not easy for small hands to use and we ended up putting a rubber band on it to give it the feel of an actual grapple hook. The chains over the truck bed are a nice detailed feature- however, with only three logs it's pointless and they aren't super easy for small hands to take on/off. Lastly, there is no back end to the truck bed, so when playing, the logs have a tendency to fall out. These are little things that aren't a big deal, but don't stack up to other Bruder trucks. My son does enjoy playing with this but loves the Bruder cement mixer, garbage truck, and crane truck the most. ... show more

  • Needs more logs
This timber company is not allocating its resources well if the timber truck is only harvesting three logs at a time. Rough and tumble play is no problem. The Transformers, GI Joes, and assorted green army men have fought for the rights to use this truck, but they remain perplexed at the lack of company efficacy. This complaint really stems from a concern for maximizing fuel usage over time. It would appear more useful for one truck to harvest 6 or even 9 huge trunks at a time, instead of a meager three. When transferring these to the lumber mill, the Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys laugh at the miniscule amount of logs available here. To save a fine truck from mockery and discouragement at the hands of other cruel toys, please Bruder, send more logs. ... show more

  • Not as beefy as I thought it would be for the price
My 4 yr. old son loves it. And it is fine. Just that for the price, I expected something tougher/beefier that will hold up to kids playing with it. It's only been 3 days and he hasn't broken anything yet but I can tell by what I've seen with other trucks, etc. that it is probably only a matter of time. Basically everything in gray color is really flimsy. The clip for the logs is kinda delicate and thin. The black boom also seems as if it will snap with just a little roughness. So, I guess actually the product is fine, but should probably be priced for like $30-$40 range for other trucks of this type of build. ... show more

  • Poor Quality
Purchased this for my son as a gift for his 4th birthday. He loves it, HOWEVER, for the price...I am livid!! It is literally made out of cheap plastic. He has a similar toy that was purchased from a box store for less than a third of the price that was better quality. The logs are hollow cheap plastic that dent when stepped on and the "chains" are, again, plastic and difficult to remove/install. I don't see their point. We have other toys from this brand that are good but this one is an expensive disappointment! ... show more

  • The logs do not stay in the crane basket.
I like the quality of this truck but when you put the logs in the crane basket and lift it up via the crane, they shift and slip out. Also it comes with a man but the doors do not open, kind of silly. Have to try to go thru the windows or sunroof. Otherwise the crane works great and the side rails to hold the logs can me released to no longer hold the load. ... show more

  • High quality toy!
These Bruner toys are pricey but they are arguably worth it if your child really loves construction toys. The log truck is large and sturdy and is very realistic. It has such nice little touches such as rubber material on the tires and a very detailed cab and interior that you donโ€™t see on a lot of toys out there. The crane works great but beware it can be delicate. Very impressed over all with this toy and went on to purchase more of their products. The concrete truck they make is especially cool and was a huge hit with my boys! ... show more

  • My kid loves these trucks.
Bruder trucks are huge and fragile and expensive which makes them a pain in the rear. But my kid loves them and thatโ€™s all that matters.

This is a sturdy truck. There is a small learning curve to using the crane. It has a small crank and it lifts the crane slowly. My nephew kept wanting to place his free hand on the crane to steady it, while cranking it with his other hand. The crane won't raise that way. The main parts of the truck are metal. All of the other parts are plastic. It can be a little tricky to lower the gates in truck bed. My 4 year old nephew loved it though! ... show more
