I gave this to my 2 year old boy for Christmas and it is above and beyond his favorite toy. We have only had it 4 days, but I will still rate it as a very durable toy. I really expected it to be broken by now, with all the moving parts and such. It is still in good shape and it has been played with a LOT. I will buy more Bruder toys. I am very happy with this one.

my grandson had marked them in the catalog and I got them for him at Christmas. He was absolutely delighted with them. He made sure to leave the booklet here so I would have something to look at for future special days :)

The 2 grand kids broke off the excavator claw in less than a week on the first unit. The castings were off center and required force to operate the boom. Happily, the replacement from Amazon has proven more durable. All of the parts move smoothly and the castings are perfect just as our other Bruder models. These toys are worth the money.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. Out of the box it was broken, the piece of plastic that attaches the boom to the arm was not attached. I put the box aside with the intentions of returning it. Trying to take a Christmas gift from a three yr old proved to be impossible. I figured I would hide it, then later return it. Well, he would not part with his broken toy even after arm came off the base of the truck and has to be reattached every couple of minutes. I contacted the company and they provided me with the website to order spare parts, the problem is not needing a spare part, the entire truck is a piece of cheaply made garbage.

This Bruder vehicle is well-made and fun for my son. The articulation of the boom is easily manipulated and works well to scoop and dump. The treads roll well on hard surfaces and short carpet and do not roll-off the sprockets and rollers. It has sufficient detail to be realistic without many easily broken parts. Like other Bruder vehicles, one should not use this in sand or dry-sandy dirt as that will quickly wear the hydraulic rams and they will no longer provide sufficient friction to hold the boom and dipper in place.

Our 3 year old LOVES this toy. Based on previous reviews, we did a good review of the boom attachments so we could reattach properly. Good thing--little man spun the excavator by the boom five minutes after he opened it. Super easy to repair but I strongly recommend learning the attachment in case your kid is a normal user of toys.

By "I love it" I really mean my son loves it. He's a huge Bruder toy fan. Great toys, they sell some replacement parts on their website if your kid, or you, bust something. I've already replaced the arm and bucket on this toy, he broke it digging clay...
