  • Great Bulldozer toy
This arrived in a timely fashion and is really quite perfect for my construction-vehicle-loving grandson! I like how it looks like the real things and doesn't flash lights or play music so he can just use his imagination to play with it. We've got a whole construction site thing going on.

  • Looks better than it is.
Bought this for a three year old boy who's been watching other kids on many Saturdays play with their construction equipment or shovels and pails in the sand at the local parks. A year before he received a large size sturdy Tonka dump truck. I thought he needed a bulldozer and/or loader to really have fun using his imagination in the sand pit. So I got him the bulldozer for Christmas as the price had dropped to an affordable $17+/-. It normally retails for about $34 which I thought was too much especially since I found some with remote controls at Toys R Us for nearly 1/2 that price. Plus I didn't want a remote control as I felt that this is a toy that I thought that my son would want to get "down and dirty" in the sand and reviews that I read on units w/remote controls had durability issues. I ultimately bought it because I couldn't find a decent alternative and the photos looked fine and the reviews that I found on the net spoke highly of Bruder Toys. I wish I could've found more information on the construction of this product and especially a video review to actually see it in action. When it arrived I was a little suspicious because it looks great in the graphics but it is very lightweight, not what I expected from such a large bulldozer. (it takes my son to use both hands to move it because of the size not the weight) Well after Christmas it was time to put it to the test and we went to a park where my son played with it but was frustrated because it doesn't move to well in the sand. It wasn't heavy enough nor strong enough to push the sand aside. If you have powdery sand then perhaps but any other type he has had to struggle with it. Finally to a point where the tracks dislocate, they are easy to repair but don't stay on too well in the sand. The one year old Tonka truck however moves with ease and is more a favorite with him and his friends. They gravitate initially to the bulldozer because it looks cool but once they realize the difficult mobility with it try to pass if off to someone else. It's an okay toy if you are playing inside but I wouldn't recommend it for the sandbox let alone dirt areas such as your garden it just won't hold up to well. I would've rated it lower but my son still takes it to the park but I know if I found a better made one I know that he would drop it in a second. Lastly I didn't do a video review because I haven't yet figured out how to do it. Once I make the time I'll add that information. ... show more

  • It’s huge and my kid loves it
Another great addition to my kid construction toys. It’s huge and very well made. He loves to play with all the construction toys.

  • Sand box fun!
Cat makes great toys. This one is okay. My boys play with it all the time. The parts around the wheels are a little flimsy yet awesome for the kids in the sand box

  • Bruder's are well done.
We have four Bruder construction toys so this review is going to show up in all four places. These are all very well made, lots of details. They are made of plastic and of course could be broken but they were thoughtfully designed and are reasonably durable. The mirrors on the Mack dump truck are probably the weakest item, but if they were to break off the truck would be otherwise functional. Toys break. We took this as an opportunity to try to help our three year old grandson understand that a little care was required if he wanted these to last and he's responded well. So far, nothing's broken on any of them, despite hours of use. These all have so much intriguing detail that the kids are immediately drawn to them. We have about a hundred buckeye nuts for them to push around and load without making a difficult mess. They all have moving parts that allow them to perform their real world functions. There are detents built in to hold position, so for example with the bulldozer, backhoe and front loader, the blades can be fixed and held in several different positions. As far as toys go, these are a little pricey but even a three year old understands from the detail that these are different that the coarser, simpler $5 - $10 equivalents. These clearly look like the "real" things. We've all had a lot of fun with these. ... show more

  • Not too durable but my son loves these toys
I wouldn’t say these are sturdy but they are the best when it comes to detail. My son has a ton of Bruder construction vehicles and a lot of them have broken already. When they break, just know that they can be repaired. They sell spare parts for pretty cheap so check that out before throwing away these expensive toys. ... show more

  • Excellent toy, even for a destructive four year old.
Great product. Excellent detail and it is loved dearly by my four year old son, above all the other toy tractors he has strewn about our property. The toy is not durable enough to be run over by a real tractor, but I purchased it again for my son who has yet to break it.
