Review of: Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Neutral Running Shoe Color: Grey/Chateau Grey/Portabella Size 7.5 By measurement, I'm a size 7 regular/medium. Most of my exercise shoes are 7.5 regular, as is this one. The width is perfectly comfortable on me. Snug at first, but after 3 weeks of a lot of wear they feel incredible. Length is great, although just barely. The foot bed is soft but firm. Not squishy. I need a decent arch support and these are nice and high and sturdy. The color (see above) is gorgeous and will coordinate with anything. The heel stays put without sliding. The heel also has the new heel style that makes them easy to slide your feet into, and you don't feel it at all when you point your toe. Great cushioning in the soles. I feel stable and straight with my slight overpronation. I immediately went on vacation when these shoes arrived, so I took a chance. I walked about 10,000 steps a day for 8 days! Including rushing through airports. These shoes felt amazing the entire time. Only took a couple of days to stretch just perfectly to my feet. At first they were digging into my ankles :( It's towards the front of the inner ankle on both shoes/feet. After an hour in them I had dents in the skin. It's right at the point where the top shoe lace hole is. It's a hard piece with no cushion. The Ghost 14 was not like this. However, I took those points and bent them backwards quite aggressively several times in the first day. I also loosened the laces all the way down the shoe, then tied them just a bit looser than I normally would. I wore them around the house for an entire day like this and they felt GREAT. Then I took them on my trip and had no issues. So I was able to completely solve that issue. I've seen others complain of the same thing. I have skinny ankles, a bit bony you might say. So it's not an issue of my size. So although I do think the manufacturer should try to fix the issue, I was able to fix it myself. It's a great shoe and I highly recommend.

The Brooks Ghost model shoe has been my go-to for the past 10 years (I started with Ghost 7). After years of trying every brand out there I came across Brooks Ghost a perfect shoe for my active lifestyle and never looked back. The Ghost 17 is even more stable and functional than previous years. I need ware an 11-wide and Ghost is perfect every time. I have converted my husband (use to be a NB and UA shoe guy because of their width) who loves the style and fit of the Ghost as well, going on 3 years. I would like a few more color options for the 11-wide size.

I really loved my ghost 15s so I was hesitant to try the 17s, but I really liked the color and my old 15s were finally getting worn out so I gave them a chance. I'm so glad I did because they really worked out! I'm on my feet all day at work and they are very comfortable and supportive. It took about a week or 2 to break them in but since then they've been great. Would definitely buy more ghost 17s in the future.

These are awesome shoes! Much more cushiony/supportive with better arch support than the brooks I’ve worn in the past (ghost 15 and previous). I work at a hospital and do a lot of walking/standing. Had been having a lot of pain in my hips and knees. These are so soothing and wish I had spent the money sooner. The color says grey but they are more off white which I like better anyway. Love the brown soles. Good shoes in healthcare are so important and hard to find. I love them so much I want more pairs lol.

OMG, these tennis shoes are so comfortable! I have been looking at the Brooks shoes for a while now and wasn’t sure if they would help with my plantar fasciitis. I also wanted a little extra height and these are perfect, they have the right support and they are lightweight. My only issue was that they didn’t have more colors to choose from because if they did, I would have bought two pairs.

Super ugly but very comfortable. I wear these everyday at work. I stand and walk a lot on concrete in a warehouse. Arch support is good. They’re holding up well and they grip well on wet polished concrete. I only wish they didn’t look like the grandma shoes. (The style is obviously different but when I see them, I’m reminded of the New Balance 530 sneakers. I can’t unsee it. Yuck.) Too bad these are the best shoes I’ve ever had or I’d chuck them just for that.

These are good but not worth $150- I got wide width for my AFO (ankle-foot orthotic) as their website said wide width works with orthotics. These are the same size as my regular tennis shoes from other brands and way narrower than my husband's regular width brooks. Wide is NOT orthotic friendly- get extra wide or a different brand. They also seem to run small overall. I order a size up to accommodate my AFO, and these JUST with no AFO added. The heel is also crazy hard and squeezes and really hurts.
