  • Best Marathon Shorts Ever
Based on over 1000 miles run in Sherpas! I bought my first set of Brooks Sherpa 2 in 1 shorts early on in training for a half marathon a few years ago, and immediately fell in love with them for their comfort and versatility. I dislike running with a lot of "stuff" on. I prefer just shorts a tank and maybe a grip free water bottle on the long runs. But I always have my phone on me so I struggle with where to put it. I dislike the arm bands and despise most "fanny packs," so I tend to look for shorts that have good built in phone storage. This fits that bill and hold a lot more! Fit: Sized as you would expect. I have a 31" waist and teh Medium fits great. The inner liner feels seamless, but Brooks just did a great job making them super low profile and I have never had any real issues with chaffing with them. The cut of the fabric and assembly allow for a free fit that doesn't hold you back and allows for comfortable movement in all directions. Fabric: Super soft, breathable and very durable. The fabric is what you would hope to expect from a world class athletics company. I have ran these for years and see very little visable wear. The brooks logo on the bottom of the left leg will last about 20-25 washes before setting itself free. Otherwise everything is as good as new even 1000 miles later. Pockets: This is where it shines. And considering it has ZERO traditional side pockets that is sort of surprising. There is a zip pocket that integrates with the liner that is made to hold your phone. I suppose it can hold anything, but it is phone shaped so.... we're going with phone pocket. This pocket does a great job of keeping the phone from bouncing and becoming a nuisance while running. Then there are "netting pockets" that surront about 200 degrees of the waist band. You can pack the gels in here like crazy. It also works great holding arm sleeves, gloves, light hats, and sunglasses. Overall: By far my favorite long distance shorts. Probably the only set of running shorts I would pay full price for and be OK with it since I have tried countless times to replace them with a more cost effective pair of shorts, and I keep coming back for these. Cannot recommend more for your avid runner! ... show more

  • Favorite Shorts
Size: Medium Color: Navy
These are my favorite pair of running shorts. I don’t run with my cell phone in the pocket generally, but I can. Fit is great, wicking is great!

  • Excellent running shorts
These are very comfortable running shorts. I’ve never liked shorts with liners, but after these, I’m a fan. No chafing or riding up. Side pocket fits my iPhone 11 Pro with no issue. I ordered two more after a five mile run in these.

  • Better than previous generation
Size: Medium Color: Navy
I own a previous generation of this short and they made some really great improvements like using a boxer brief liner, which I prefer, in place of a brief liner. They removed the small back center zipper pocket and placed a bigger zipper pocked on the side that’s sewn into the liner providing more support and structure for your phone or energy bars. The material and waistband are the same as before, but Brooks adopted many of the features on the Sherpa 7” 2-1 model with the only difference being the length. I have a hard time deciding the length I like most so I own both. ... show more

  • Good Product, WAY too expensive
Size: Large Color: Black
Bought a pair of these for $45 2 years ago and fell in love with them because they’re great running shorts. Bought another pair in Aug 2023 for $60. It’s Oct 2023 now and they’re $90. I don’t really care how bad inflation gets, there’s no good reason these can have doubled in price in 2 years. Wait for a sale if you really want them or buy them in a retail shop for a more reasonable price. ... show more

  • Shorts ride up as you run, save your money!
Make no mistake, Brooks is a decent running brand. But these are terrible shorts. On paper, they have everything a marathoner would need, great pockets for keys, phone and plenty for gu s. However, even though I bought the right size, and no matter how tight I get the drawstring, the shorts ride up higher and higher until they're simply embarrassing to wear. For clarification, im 6'1'' and 160 lbs, so no reason for there to be an anomaly. I bought a pair of Saucony shorts after the aforementioned disaster, and they did not disappoint, they're my new favorite pair. I've bought $12 Asics running shorts that were more reliable than these $65 Brooks pair. Like I said, save your money, just because these are expensive, doesn't mean they're actually good. Hope that helps. ... show more

  • Chafing warning
I’m a long time buyer of Sherpa Shorts. I’ve never been so chafed as I have been in this version. I’m not sure what changed, but it makes me reconsider this product.
