Brooks has been my go to shoe for several years now. I still hate how expensive they are all around, but nothing else is like brooks. Except for the Revel 5. I had the original Revel and it was the shoe that taught me if you like a shoe you better buy as many as you can afford to get all in the same purchase. So when I found 2 more original Revels I bought them both. I tried to by my 4th and that's when I made this purchase... If I knew more behind the changes I might could be on board or know that I no longer need the Revel line. The original was heavier and felt like I was wearing the most comfortable house shoes that ever existed. When the originals wore out, they were still crazy comfortable. There was memory foam and all sorts of things in the original. The 5 I only guess this is supposed to be a light weight so you can run faster shoe? they do not feel as comfortable as the wore out original. The laces feel cheap, and too thin. If I tie them snug how I like, it feels like they get tighter. Eventually, I have to retie them and intentionally make them looser. Even the brooks symbol looks cheap on these. It looks like it's a heat applied sticker that is going to fall off over time. So, in short they did work for the run I needed and they are still working. But I paid $99 and I know I could get shoes that work the same for far less. I paid more not to get the brooks name, or to get shoes that simply function, I pay more because I'm expecting more. Keep in mind before chalking this up as a snobby review, I paid even more for the original Revel and when I found the other 2 pair I paid $99 each. So yeah I feel like I spent the same money and received less.

This is a half to full size larger than I normally wear. At first it felt like they were still too smal and that my big toe was hitting front end of shoe even though there was actually a good space there. I decided to wear them outside anyway. A day later and they feel much better.

Great shoe. I've rebought several times. Amazing for running, walking, comfort, and working out in the gym. One negative- they do seem to wear relatively quickly. They last me about a year. Shoes in the past have lasted me two years. Maybe it's because I'm running more? Not sure.

While I prefer Brooks Adrenaline for running (more support), I wear Revel at the gym or just as a casual everyday shoes. Light and comfortable. Durable too.

This is the most comfortable shoe that I have ever owned.

Everything is great about the shoe, the fit, the feel, but the only thing I don’t like about it is the loop in the back. The loop was not present on the Revel 2 or 3, and I feel it’s unnecessary. It gets in the way of your pants coming all the way down onto the shoe. Other than than the loop, I find the revel series more comfortable and a better fit for my feet when compared with the ghost, and the glycerin’s. I wear a 12 1/2 so I’m in the place where I can rarely find any shoes that fit just right. So far, for a few years in a row now, the Brooks Revel has been my go to shoe due to this issue. They are also not as expensive as the other top-tier Brooks shoes. Will continue to buy, and will live with the loop as long as they keep fitting well. Brooks if you’re reading this though, drop the loop. It’s just not needed.
