  • Too tight for me, even with the wide version - but going up a half size fixed everything
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Black/Country Blue/Orange Pop
I bought true to size, and the wide version, but the shoes were still too tight. People with wider or taller feet should consider going up a half size. I think because they were so snug, I really felt the stabilizing features of this shoe, especially on the inside of my heel. These shoes really made the inside of my heel hurt after a few hours, but I'm sure that was because they were too tight. I thought they were a bit firm underfoot as well, and I was looking for something a little softer. Styling was great. Quality seems really good. I think Brooks needs to make a stability version of their Glycerin Max. I was hoping this might be it, but sadly, it isn't. **Edit. I had to come back and edit this review to hopefully help somebody else out. I ended up getting another pair of these, this time a half size bigger, and the fit is excellent - no more heel pain. I really love the Adrenalines, and these are a slightly more cushioned variety of those. The Glycerin doesn't get to the "max stack" level of cushion that you see with New Balance 1080s or the Glycerin Max...but that is actually a good thing. Sometimes those max stack marshmallow shoes can feel like you are walking in quicksand - these give good cushion while still providing some support and rebound. I have a wide and very voluminous foot, and there is plenty of room in this shoe. If you have a wide foot, definitely get the wide version, and everyone should consider going up a half size from what you normally wear, and I think you will really like these. Anybody who pronates can really benefit from the Glycerin GTS - they provide great stability, but don't look like hospital shoes. ... show more

  • Damn comfy for heavier folks
Size: 14 Wide Color: Black/Country Blue/Orange Pop
I'm a fat guy, I was looking for a basic everyday walking shoe and was buying sight-unseen (local stores don't tend to carry much of anything in 14 wide). This model was recommended as the best overall running shoe by RunRepeat for heavy men. I don't really do a whole lot of running, but I do a fair bit of indoor walking at work, and needed a shoe that I could rely on to be comfortable all day. Two big positives for me are the foam sole (and I mean the sole, not the insole - it feels like you're kinda walking on a cloud, but with regular shoes) and the great breathability. I'm sick of buying shoes that are half-leather (or pleather) and just get gross in hot weather. That shouldn't be a problem with these, since almost the entire shoe is made of a lightly cushioned mesh. My only complaint is the shoe feels a little unstable side-to-side, like I'm at risk of rolling my ankle, although I've had other shoes that suffer this problem much worse. I think that's just me getting used to the tall sole. I got the orange and black and added some neon orange elastic no-tie laces, they've become my favorite shoe. FWIW, I also use a very thick insole (Powerstep ProTech Control) and it's a little tight but it loosened up after a week or two, so if you are worried about insoles, just give it a bit to adjust to your foot. ... show more

  • Decent walking/running shoes that needs better arch support
Size: 13 Color: Black/Cobalt/Neo Yellow
These are a comfortable pair of shoes. A little tight in the toe box I have to use thinner than normal running Sox for a comfortable fit while walking. Support is nominal for over pronation and lacking arch support. The description on Amazon indicates that arch support over a factory normal Ian’s bring your own they are not wrong. I would recommend a specific ortho support prescribed by an orthopedic specialist and not an over the counter version. If you don’t have any foot issues these will be a good supportive running shoe. ... show more
