As a Brooks Ghost 14 and 15 owner, I was looking forward to the Brooks Ghost 17 because of the reduced drop (10mm instead of 12mm). What I noticed immediately was that with the new design, I had a bit of heel slip when I first tried them on. But after a couple of wears, as long as I kick my heel to the ground before I tie these up, I can get a snug enough fit even with the standard lace configuration that it's not a problem.

Ghost 17’s are better than 16’s I ran through 2 pairs of 16’s and average 50+ miles running per week. They are great shoes especially if you are taller and have weight. I’m 6’7” and 235lbs

I’ve been running with Ghost sneakers for as long as I can remember. The Ghost 17’s were way too tight and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to get them off my feet. Unfortunately I had to return this sneakers and will have to find something else.

I had high hopes for the Ghost 17 but I ended up returning them. I have been running with the Ghost running shoes for many years. Last year I liked but did feel the road a little so when I heard they added more foam in the front of the shoe I couldn't wait to try it. Well, it seemed very tight after I put my insole in and didn't care for the ride. It was too much foam in my opinion and the tongue was hard and actually hurt my foot and didn't seem to stay up and flat. I went back and ordered another pair of the Ghost 16.
