I first bought a Team Pro Imperial (Honey Brown) a couple of months ago to replace another saddle I had been using on my Cannondale R1000 road bike. It felt great from the first time I rode using it. I treated it per the instructions before installing it on my bike. With some bar tape to match it has a great vintage look and is very comfortable. My second ride with it was a mountainous metric century and I finished it with absolutely no discomfort from the saddle! I have been rebuilding an old touring bike and needed a saddle for it. Since the Team Pro worked so well I decided to order another Brooks saddle. My only fault (sort of) with the Team Pro is that there are no eyelets nor other good way to tie a tool bag to the seat. So, I ordered a B17 Imperial in standard width and brown color. Dimensions are very similar to the Team Pro but the frame has eyelets for my toolbag. One of the first things that I noticed is that the leather on the B17 is noticeably thinner than the leather on the Team Pro. That makes the seat a bit more flexible and I guess it will be "broken in" a bit quicker than the other saddle. As with the first saddle, it was comfortable from the first time I sat on it. That makes the break in time a non-issue for me. I am very pleased with both of my Brooks saddles. They are a bit more comfortable for me than the "men's anatomic saddles" that I had been using previously. There have been no perineal issues for me which can make a huge difference in whether a saddle works for long hours on the bike or not.     • Excellent, Comfortable, Quality but of Course it’s a Brooks.
I have several Brooks B17 saddles this is the first with a cut out. I found that the more upright position of my Tern HSD required a bit of extra relief and this so far has worked out great. I also tend to wear street pants and shorts on the cargo bike as opposed to cycling gear. The cut out works well to limit impact of seams in sensitive areas. Typical Brooks quality which is awesome my other saddles have many thousands of miles on them and have only gotten more comfortable. Saddles are very personal so your mileage may vary.. ... show more

This is a beautiful saddle and I love it! Surprisingly very comfortable from the beginning. Has gotten more comfy as it breaks in. More comfortable than any padded saddle I’ve tried.

This is my 2nd ever Brooks B17. The first was an “Aged” model on a 26” full suspension MTB. I transferred it to my first 29’er, a Specialized hardtail. I put a lot of miles on that saddle before wrist surgery in 2011. I did not ride again until mid 2019 when I bought my Giant 29’er. First upgrade was a B17 standard, this time not aged. Granted it was years in between saddles, but I did not experience that break in period Brooks people love to hate. Unfortunately I fractured my leg, then back issues, knee and spine injections, and currently nursing a never ending ankle problem. So this saddle in the past 2.5 years may have 100 miles on it. Currently washed, lubed, waiting on new tires and pedals while I ease back into it. The body hurts like hell, but my a$$ isn’t complaining. And this saddle is just plain sexy. I only wish I had opted for the hammered copper hardware. Maybe when I get my ‘58 Springer Hiawatha back on the street… BUY YOU A BROOKS ... show more

The rail is much longer than the average seat so I could move it more forward which made a huge difference. Lacing it up is a must. I can now look forward to even more comfort as the keather softens. Get a lot of compliments!

Brooks refused to honor warranty. I purchased this saddle less then 4 months ago when it broke. The rail snapped. I purchased it from the Brooks store on Amazon but Brooks refuses to accept the warranty claim since it was NOT purchased directly from Brooks.

Felt better than anything I ever had as soon as I sat on it for the first time. The cutout does help relieve the pressure on the sensitive areas and pains and other problems that can cause a guy. It was hard at first though but with some adjustment, Brooks Proofride, and breaking in it feels better all the time. But it does take some time to break it in. At least 300 miles for it to start breaking in for me. ... show more
