Great, year-round alternative to traditional decorative/holiday lights!

During our first Christmas at our new house, I had hung up some traditional, blue colored "Christmas/holiday" lights in our front window that I had found left in our basement. Put them up again a year later, but they kept losing bulbs, the dogs would knock them down, and the wires were just kind of dirty and ugly. I pitched the idea of buying this set (the 66ft/20m set), and my wife was all for it when I showed her all that these could do. Strung them up in the front window (and part of the living room) about two years ago, and they have been on virtually 24/7 ever since without a single issue! The wire is nice and lightweight, but fairly stiff, so you may want to hold them up with some adhesive clips. The adjustable brightness is nice since some colors are a bit harsh at the default brightness, and the variety of colors is perfect for literally every season and holiday! The remote is easy to use, but does need a direct line of sight to the receiver, so make sure it isn't blocked by curtains, blinds, or furniture. The original battery in the remote still works, and still changes the colors every couple months or season. Each and every LED still works perfectly after 2+ years of constant use. Well worth the money, and it's far cheaper than different strings of lights! UPDATE! Still five stars! This time my wife pitched the idea of buying another set to hang around our front door entryway, and I obviously said "sure!" Measured it and decided the 33ft/10m set would suffice. Second verse same as the first, love the colors and settings. Interestingly, both sets will work with both remotes, despite being purchased almost 3 years apart! That said, the original set that has been going pretty much 24/7 for the past 2-3 years seems to not be quite as bright as the new set, even on its brightest setting, but it's still absolutely acceptable. Maybe because they're older, maybe because the new set is improved; who knows, who cares, still love 'em. ... show more

I am so happy with this purchase. I did have all white lights on my "Holiday/Season" tree that I made. I decorate it for all Holidays, and then seasons... I should have bought these to begin with. It's nice to have different colors. The remote is easy to use, and so many selections to choose from. If you buy these, you will not be disappointed. I did have one issue where the lights were on red/white and then about a half hour they would just start to change colors on their own and start blinking. I think I solved the problem by hitting the play/pause button... I'm still learning, as the remote control book really does not tell you what the buttons do, it just tells you what they are. All buttons on the remote are very easy to figure out though. You just have to play with the Auto and Play/Pause to figure out exactly how they function. But over and all, I'd highly recommend these. They are awesome for indoor or outside. ... show more

Great lights! Just NOT Roku remote friendly.
Color: 200 LED Adapter Number of Items: 1
Almost perfect. Really like the lights and all of the settings! I’ve only had one issue that’s pretty annoying. It took me awhile to figure this out but the lights change settings when I change the volume on my Roku remote. I have to reset the light setting constantly. Otherwise they’re nice. I just wish they were longer and I could use my Roku remote to adjust the tv volume without interference. ... show more

GO ON AND BUY THESE, STOP HESITATING

LOVE these lights so much. Just moved into a new apartment and my roommate has had a set of these lights that were about 2 years old that we hung around our living room, I loved the look of them and was so pleased with the light they gave off I had to get some for myself. I will note the ones she had were a bit dimmer / off in color as they had basically been turned on for 2 straight years, but I do not think that it affects the quality or output that these give. I decided to purchase two different sizes of lights the 66 ft and the ~30ft. I hung the longer strand around my room and it fit perfectly and the shorter strand I hung around my bathroom. These have been amazing ever since they’ve been up. The ones I have in the bathroom usually stay on (I keep them on the dark orange color, as well as for my room), they give off a GREAT amount of light and really help set a great ambient mood. I have started to shower with the regular bathroom lights turned off and just use these as the light for my shower, I typically just turn on the regular light when I have to get ready to leave to make sure my face looks fine. In my bedroom I have very high ceilings with exposed beams, so when I hung the lights I put them all around at the level that the ceiling would typically be at, as the top half / ceiling to my room is painted black. The light doesn’t shine / give off as much due to my ceiling situation but they still look great, especially at night when I want some ambient light while I play games, or hang out before bed. I have had no issues so far with the power / power supply on these, and fee like they work great. I also have not had any issues with them being in my bathroom with me showering, I am not sure if they are waterproof but I also ensure my bathroom is vented well while I am in there, so use at your own risk on that front. Overall these definitely seem like a great value! Highly highly highly recommended. We have these lights in 4 rooms in the house total and would probably have them everywhere if we weren’t broke. (Currently in the living room, my roommates room, my bedroom and my bathroom) ... show more

Works with WLED!
Color: 200 LED Adapter Number of Items: 1
I purchased these, as well as the "Brizled Color Changing Fairy Lights" -- as far as I can tell they are the same product. Get whichever is the most economical. These are pretty interesting lights: they're bright, the colors are accurate and vibrant, and they are indeed individually addressable LEDs. The built-in effects are pretty good too! You get a handful of settings and the remote is full-featured. But the effects on offer definitely do not take full advantage of what's possible with addressable LED strings... they should be capable of a lot more. If you do some searching you'll find some info on the WLED forums about them. They use a proprietary chip that appears to be compatible with the standard WS2812 protocol, so it's worth experimenting with a WLED controller. I used an ESP8266 mini board (cheap) with WLED flashed to it, reused the power supply from this set, and connected the data directly to a GPIO pin on the board. They lit right up and after entering the string length (200) everything worked just fine. Apparently, you can't hook two of these strings end-to-end, as somehow the ID of each individual light is hard-wired into the light, unlike normal WS2812s, which index in the order the lights are chained. This means you can inject the data at any point on the line and it "just works." If you want two strings, you need to have two segments in WLED, and two GPIO pins with independent data signals. You'd also want a bigger power supply anyway, so you probably don't want to do multiple strings with one controller unless you know what you're doing, and in that case you're probably not hacking a cheap fairy light string, heh. What do you get for your trouble? WLED (look it up!) is capable of a wild number of effects and colors, as well as automating, synchronizing different strings, and more. It's very powerful. Anyway, great success overall! I have a couple other WLED-powered strings around, so this means I can integrate this one into the effects. I love the different look and smaller lights this offers. So far they're holding up well and it was a very affordable way to get 66 feet of lights. I put one string in my window with a WLED controller, but with this string, I made two battery-powered color changing lights for inside out pumpkins. Definitely a DIY project but very possible and these lights work great! ... show more

This is my second string as these lights are so easy to install, are a good value and look so nice! What's fun is all the different ways you can adjust the colors, twinkling to flicker and fade in-fade out modes. The second string is for my small tinsel pencil tree and I will let you know how it looks afterwards. ... show more

Great lights, but collectively bluish
Color: 200 LED Adapter Number of Items: 1
These lights are very interesting. The remote allows you to choose a color shade from various shades of yellows and oranges to reds, blues and greens. etc. whatever fits the ambiance of your space. There are several motion options that shimmer between just a couple colors or have the lights individually shimmer through a total (RGBMCY) "Red-Green-Blue-Magenta-Cyan-Yellow" sequence. Collectively, the lights are more color balanced than what I have seen in other RGB changing color combo lights. However, the combined hue is still too much of a pale blue-cyan color. The red should really be brighter for more chromatic balance. Also, they flicker too fast even when I try to slow them down with the remote. I wish I could slow down the speed of the color change mode to make for a more relaxing color changing effect. One thing I do really like about these lights is that they will keep the setting you choose even after you unplug them and plug them back in so if you connect them to some kind of switch they will keep the mode you chose. ... show more
