The garland was rounded and softer than the usual stiffer ones with multiple branches. Don't know the long term viability of it. Only things I would make different is add a flasher option and maybe power by AAA, with a remote. The C cells have a heavy case you need to hang on something. Great product. We used for bannister, worked out perfectly. The need for 3 C batteries (we had 2 strings to make it up the stairs 3x2) increased the overall cost BUT IS MUCH safer than stringing extension cords, esp. near the stairs. Batteries lasted entire season from the weekend following Thanksgiving to the weekend following Christmas. 6 hours on 18 off starts the lights at the same time everyday. For example 530 PM to 1130PM worked great for us. Also, the quality is very good and I expect these will last many seasons. ... show more

They are very pretty, I like the timer function when it works. Returned one already because of loose wire. But not so good outside. Since its been raining and snowing, they haven't worked for days now. Hoping they work when I bring them in and they dry out. Have battery box in a baggie. Worked on one set ... show more

This product is misrepresented. It is not battery operated at all, just regular old plug-in lights. Even the wrapper /packaging says "battery operated". Complete falsehood. Do not buy if you want true battery operated lights!
