As with most Brio products, this Mickey Train is super-cute. Packaging states it is battery-powered and instructions are included, however, it looks as though the manufacturer has changed this to a "non- battery-powered" toy. The case for accessing the battery is permanently glued down (you cannot remove the philips screw) and the push button for on-off is non-existent. It's still adorable, but not as advertised. I have been purchasing Brio for over 40 years and the quality has changed quite a bit. We've had a couple of different versions of a battery train, and Brio is the best so far! It fits all the wooden train sets we have including the Orbrium and Ikea sets. It pulls the trains up and down the tracks no problem! My kids also like to just leave it running, and forget about it. My son loves Mickey Mouse so this was a favorite however the piece itself was a little on the smaller side the. What I expected for the price but that might be because it is Disney, but it is cute , the train is mostly plastic as is the clock tower, so we will see how the durability is after months of use ... show more

This train works fine. Ignore the reviews that say you can’t turn it on and off. The front wheel has a switch type thing so as long as it’s pressing against something (hand/floor/track) you can easily turn it on and off. The yellow buttons on the top are not buttons at all just more of a guide telling you where to press. My complaint with this is that even though it works, it moves very slow. It’s hardly noticeable that it’s a Mickey train if Mickey is not in it and most likely if you have toddlers like me, Mickey will be on one side of the room and the train on the other. Never shall the two meet. Kids like it ok, but they prefer the other faster electric train that we have. ... show more

I don’t typically do reviews but I feel like I have to due to people complaining about the on off switch. The switch functions just like any other Brio electric train. You have to put it on the track or ground and press on the front. The people who are saying there is no switch are not doing this properly.
