Fit like it was made for it. Nice engine package. You will need to tap 3 holes 9/16-20 if you want to use the same hardware that cane with the Kohler. If not you can use nut and bolt. I tapped and was a perfect fit. Harness is plug and play. Fuel line easy to cut short due to location of included filter and line. Choke is easy peasy. Remove black plastic retainer and Install choke cable into white plastic holder. Clamp down. Put throttle into chock position on the mower. There is an upper thin bracket on the carb side that you bend up to contact the choke U shaped rod on tge carb. Bend the tab up to meet the rod to get the desired choke stroke. Done. No need for extra choke cable like some have done. Put oil in and start. Runs perfectly smooth and quiet. Good deal. Better than spending 5K on a new Bad boy. ... show more

This engine performs great. it was a great replacement for the earlier model I owned. Easy swap out and plug and play. Replaced engine on Pouland Pro 19A42. I parted out the old engine which will almost pay for the new replacement.

I was replacing a 19.5 HP 500 CC engine that was 15 yrs old. This Engine fit like perfectly for my Ariens 2009 42 inch Riding Lawn tractor. I didn't have to make any adjustments to the hood for it to close or anything. Used my Old Frame bolts to re thread the Holes on the New Engine mount using a DeWalt Impact Driver and Took off the Muffler that came with the New Engine and Utilized my Existing Muffler Exhaust. Took me all but about 3 hours to make sure everything was done properly. The Best thing is the Engine got to me 2 days faster than I had anticipated. really Quick delivery and No Damages. Added some oil and she turned right over and ran like it was Day 1 back in 2009 ... show more

    • When your Kohler Courage 19HP blows up...almost perfect replacement
Never been a Briggs fan, but it was the best deal I found to replace a Kohler Courage 19Hp that was the stock engine on my Toro timecutter Z4200 (engine is no longer available...seemingly for good reason) Thought they were a superior engine to the Briggs at the time, but the 2007 model literally blew apart shortly after I noticed a small film of oil from a hairline crack in the upper part of the crackcase. Though it was well maintained, serviced, and stored indoors, I guess 15 years is the lifespan of them. I expected far more, but...I'm old. Didn't rate longevity on this purchase because that remains to be seen. I was very pleased with the ease of installment. The mounting bolts matched up perfectly, the clutch and pulley assembly as well, even to my amazement the wiring harness plug matched up to the Toro plug on the mower. Plugged it in and it all worked. Definately happy about that. The only modification I had to make, was that the new engine required a separate Choke cable. The stock Toro\Kohler had one throttle\choke combined cable, where you push it past full throttle to choke it. I maybe could have modified the factory linkage, but I chose not to mess with that and simply put on a separate choke cable. That's the only thing that kept the ease of installation from '5 stars'. I also shortened the throttle cable by an inch and a half or so to avoid a potentially to sharp a bend in the cable. Probably could have left it as is, but... Anyway, all in all, pretty happy with the nearly 'plug and play' replacement of the Kohler Courage 19 ... show more

Great motor. Any DIYer should be able to install. Only problem is the mounting holes come un-threaded. This is because of all the model tractors it fits and their proprietary thread sizes. I just went with a 1/2 tap, very easy to thread the aluminum block, and bolted the motor in easy peasy. Tossed the original bolts in the trash. Replacement took about 45 minutes on a John Deere D110. ... show more

Direct fit. I recommend going to the sellers website since it can find the replacement engine you need. The engine started up immediately on the first try.
