I have sensitive skin and have tried different types of shaving creams but they all leave me nicked up even with a fresh blade. I had pretty much given up on trying anything new until I saw this listed shaving butter at the bottom of my search. To be honest, I was hesitant but decided to give it a try. What initially intrigued me was the name, shaving butter. So I ordered it and I’m really pleased. The product truly feels like a butter. Not so much the hard butter we eat but a firmer coco butter. It’s easy to take out of the container and smooth it all along your shave area. Follow the directions by making sure you have a wet faced and massage it onto your skin. I always run my blade under hot water before shaving. Boy am I glad I tried. The blade glided through my beard stubble and gave me a close, clean shave. The best part is how my skin felt afterwards. Shaving foam often left my skin dry but this butter did the opposite. I really like the way my skin feels. If you are not happy with your current shaving routine, you may want to give this a try. I left the world of high-dollar razor blade cartridges and cans of foamy shave cream a long time ago. I get a much better and closer shave with a safety razor and a pack of 100 blades (100 blades around $12 and will last me about 3 years). When I switched, I also began using a shave brush and either a soap puck or cream from a tube. I have a full beard so I only shave my lower neck about every other day. That has been my routine for about 10 years. Lately, I have been lazy and not wanting to go through the time and hassle of building a rich lather with my brush, so I have reduced shaving to a weekly event. BUT THEN I found Brickell's Brushless Shave Butter. I jump out of the shower, throw some of this on, and shave away. Because of the time it saves, I'm back to keeping this neck tidy again. While I've used shaving foam for many years, it always felt wasteful. I dispense more than I need and struggle with maneuvering the foam along the edges of my beard. Long ago i ditched the aerosol shaving creams because of my sensitive skin and the chemicals added to the razor burn, dryness and itching i had after each shave. I've reviewed a number of shave soap pucks and creams that i would recommend, and tried a ton more that didn't make the grade. This stuff is top notch! When you open the jar It has a fresh minty fragrance that wakes you up. More importantly, the natural lubricants provide for an excellent, close shave without razor burn, irritation or nicks. This product doesn't require the effort or time of a hard soap and brush, but still provides a top quality shave. Just scoop a little out with your finger (the jar says about a quarter size, i put two dime size "dollops" on each cheek and neck) and massage in. After receiving my order i had an evening affair one day, and I had to shave a second time later in the same day which usually ruins me. , I used this cream, counting on the aloe and jojoba combination to work some magic. I had no irritation or dry skin feeling. This is now part of my shaving rotation and I would highly recommend it. ... show more

UPDATE: Thrown away after the second shave. Can't take it anymore. The smell is SO bad, doesn't mix well when you shake it (shook it like crazy, didn't help) and just makes for an overall bad shave. My 2 star is now going down to a one star because I thought I could get through this tiny bottle but.........just no. Put this product out of its misery. Will not be buying again. Spent $12 on this shaving cream and it looks almost like a sample size (not actually the sample size because I got a sample of it before which I mistakenly forgot to use before I bought this). If you shave a lot and like to use a good amount of shaving cream do not buy this, it'll last you maybe 4-5 shaves. As far as the actual product, it felt like I was spreading some clumpy Cetaphil on my face and didn't really help with my shave much. Lastly, the smell (in my own personal opinion) is terrible, it smells like a cheap form of alcohol, almost made me gag honestly. I LOVE all the other Brickell products I have tried so far (which is the only reason it got a second star), especially the face wash and the face cream but this totally misses the mark. ... show more
