This is not a long term review as I’ve only had this backpack a week. I bought it for an upcoming trip (October 2023) to Florida and the Bahamas. My wife and I travel to Florida several times a year visiting the theme parks and it practically rains every day. We always carry a backpack to keep our cell phones, car keys, wallet, money, jackets, etc. Our stuff has gotten soaked several times throughout the years. Some things I like about this backpack is the overall size and capacity. Although it doesn’t have a lot of pockets for organization, you can fit a ton of stuff in it. We don’t carry a laptop but there is an area for one. I’m 6’2 and weigh 240 and the backpack is comfortable. The straps are wide and don’t dig in and there is good padding on the back. I like that the material is not cloth and it can be wiped clean. That will be nice for the beaches in the Bahamas. There are 2 water bottle pockets that are stretchy so they should fit a variety of sizes. Overall the backpack seems well made and the zippers feel very durable. I have tested it for waterproofness with a garden hose and it passed. I’m hoping it does the same in Florida. If not, I’ll update my review.

I recently purchased the Breakwater Supply backpack, and initially, I was thrilled with its durability and functionality. It accompanied me on hikes, the beach, etc. However, less than a year into owning it, disaster struck. While on a boating trip, the backpack unexpectedly ripped where the water bottle pocket is. Disappointed but determined to find a solution, I reached out to Breakwater Supply's customer service team. To my surprise and delight, they were incredibly responsive and understanding. After explaining the situation, Breakwater Supply immediately offered to send me a new backpack as a replacement, with hardly any questions asked. I was impressed not only by the swift response but also by Breakwater Supply's commitment to standing behind their product. In a world where customer service can often be lacking, it was refreshing to encounter Breakwater Supply, a company that genuinely cares about its customers' satisfaction. Overall, while I encountered an unfortunate issue with the backpack, the exceptional customer service provided by the company more than made up for it. I'm looking forward to putting my new backpack to the test on future adventures, confident that I have a reliable product backed by a company that values its customers. Highly recommended!

Great backpack. Definitely waterproof. In the Philippines i was on a boat for a 5 day island hopping trip and this was my main bag. I brought a drone with me on the boat trip and when we'd anchor off an island Id zip up the back pack with my drone in it and swim to shore. I did this on many islands and never a drop of water got into the bag, Id even kind of swim with it as a flotation device submerging it a bit and no problem. Also nice when thunderstorms would come through areas when I was on motorbikes and would get drenched but didnt even need to worry a bit about my gear getting wet, I'd just throw my phone in the bag and keep going with a smile. As of now I definitely recommend this bag. UPDATE: After my 3 month trip the front zipper was having issues completely sealing. When it was zipped up and closed if I applied pressure to the back air was slightly leaking. I reached out to customer service and they were INCREDIBLE. They really stand by their warranty and were so fast to help me out. New backpack arrives tomorrow! A true 10/10 product and maybe the best experience with customer service I’ve ever had. Want a waterproof backpack? Get one from Breakwater Supply hands down. Much love

This backpack is well made with sturdy waterproof zippers. I have other water resistant backpacks that leak like crazy when I’m out walking in the rain, so I was happy to find a small backpack at a decent price that will keep my things dry. I purchased the 15 liter fogland lite in black. It is not too huge looking on me (I’m 5’7” tall).

I used this to take a laptop on a canoe trip where heavy rain was expected. It sat in a 2 hour torrential rainstorm, fully exposed to the rain from the top, and sitting in an ever increasing puddle of water in the canoe. Everything was bone dry inside afterwards. Its rare that I fully trust waterproof products, but this is legitimate. The zip is very high quality and locks into place when fully closed. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

For everyone complaining about the zipper. This is a waterproof backpack, try the Yeti Hopper cooler and you will find it has the same zipper. There is resistance in closing because it is creating a waterproof seal, if you want a smooth zipper, don't come looking for waterproof. This backpack has loops for you to hold while opening and closing all zippers. I have received multiple comments on how good this backpack looks. I use it while commuting on bicycle, and like it a lot. I wish there were padding in the laptop compartment. I highly recommend this backpack
