  • It's no miracle, but it's pretty darn close
Style: Ointment
I bought this stuff after suffering some seriously bad road rash on the side of my face. My face was scraped up pretty badly, but there was nothing too deep. I did some research about speeding up the healing process, and finally settled on this stuff; I'm sure glad I did. This is how I applied it. I liberally applied it 3 times/day, in the morning, afternoon, and evening before bed. I did NOT bandage it up during the day (first 2 applications) because there were really no bandages to fit my face without covering my head like a mummy. At night, I put gauze on the wounds and taped them to my face as best I could, but they would sometimes fall off by morning. Now on to the results. One of the things you'll first notice about it is the numbing (that's the lidocaine). For my scrapes, with some as large as 1.5 inches in diameter, they were significantly less painful. By the time this stuff was delivered, scabs had already started to form, which cracked and were painful every time I moved my face (i.e., all the time). Even when a scab is already formed, this stuff will moisten the scab to prevent it from cracking. For the pain reduction alone for my particular injury, I'd recommend this stuff. However, on top of the pain reduction, it increased the healing speed. I'm honestly not sure how it work, and I am a perpetual skeptic when it comes to these claims (I come from a family of doctors), but it worked. I noticed significant improvement within just 3 days. My scabs had shrank or fallen off, the injuries were much less noticeable, and new skin had started to form. After a week, I felt like my face was at 3 weeks of natural healing. However, after that initial phase of healing, I don't think it helps that much. It's great when there are scabs forming and open wounds, but by the time you have that pink layer of new skin, you've probably received all the benefits you can from it. Also, it's really only for superficial abrasions. The one semi-deep cut I had on my face, which was only about 3/8 inch long, is still apparent, though it's probably down to less than 1/4 inch long 6 months later. Recently, I've used it when I had large, open blisters on my fingers from rock climbing. I applied some of this stuff and bandaged them up 3 times per day. Worked great again, and really sped up the healing process. I was even able to continue lifting weights because of the numbing power and the moistening effect (the blisters were on the palm-side of my fingers on the knuckle joint, so I had the problem of the scabs cracking open when moving them). This stuff is great and I highly recommend it to anyone experiencing superficial abrasions or minor cuts. Also, don't be fooled by its small size: I use it fairly frequently and I'm barely 1/2 through with my first (though certainly not last) tube. ... show more

  • The Best Ointment Ever!

  • So good
Style: Ointment
Is it magic, or is it because it's an ointment / petroleum jelly you rarely used? Because you've been using a cream that dries up (Neosporin cream is a literal lie), NewSkin that dries your skin and hinders healing, or nothing at all? (That's me, all these.) I'm not saying these ingredients are bogus, but that you're going to notice a VERY large difference if you haven't already been using an ointment of some kind. You'll be straight up amazed. But regardless of what's doing the heavy lifting, this stuff works. ... show more

  • Great product, but expensive
Style: Ointment
I am a homeopath. I make my own medicines. I am familiar with many of these kinds of antibiotics. Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment is one of the best (as in fastest acting) OTC antibiotics on the market. It is also one of the most expensive. So you would not want to use it for general home first aid. Such as preventing infection, minor cuts, bruises, sunburns, bug bites, plant poison, etc. But if you have a serious skin condition, where general first aid products such as Neosporin have little effect, you will prob need to bite the bullet and pay for this product. This product excels in treating already established infections. Many different types and kinds of skin infections. A very powerful and versatile medication. Four stars (not five) because it is so expensive. ... show more

  • Effective for my rash
Style: Ointment
This has worked for me. I had a rash on both arms that was very red and very itchy. Have had it for 3 weeks and no cream has worked until now. I applied this Brave Soldier antiseptic ointment and after 3 days i am getting relief and i can see the results. I am still in process of using it until my rash is completely gone. I think i got the rash from tumbleweeds i picked up to toss away. Maybe it’s the season. ... show more

  • Amazing stuff!
Style: Ointment
I had some superficial wounds on both cheeks (face, not the other ones), they had stabbed over and were painful. Smiling and changing expressions would pull and tighten. With one light application to the scabbed area, the pain immediately went away. After the second application they began to loosen. The next day I was able to peel them off as if they had been a piece of masking tape. I don't know if my results are typical, but this is the truth. I almost can't wait to get hurt again! ... show more

  • Great product, Poorly Packaged.
Style: Ointment
Mine arrived via usps in a large envelop with the small cardboard box the product always comes in. That box was totally smashed and thus the cream container was all dented. Nothing was coming out of the tube. However, I felt this was a poor way to ship the product. Brave Soldier is an efficient healing product. I often purchase extra just to hand to friends who need a minor scrape or nick repaired and especially a child’s knee to quickly heal. I certainly won’t be handing this tube to anyone, the box has been thrown out. Great product but wrong packaging. ... show more
