I have owned several different electric and battery trimmers over the years, but this was my very first Braun. After complaining about my old trimmer not lasting but 6 months, a co-worker said that he had always depended on his Braun trimmer. I'm really sad that it took me this long to find a Great Trimmer!! This dude is powerful and fast! The battery life is great, couldn't ask for anything better there. The trimmer comes with some accessories which includes a little brush to clean the trimmer with. While the head is easy to remove and replace, the little brush isn't too great at it's job. Its on the soft side and isn't really rigid enough to move clipped hair out of the cutter head. But that's OK, I have a brush from another trimmer that works just fine. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to clean. I DO recommend this product!! And will buy again, but hope I don't have to for a long time!

As an initial, right out of the box review, it looks very similar to my old one, but with the added ear/nose trimmer. Seems charged up. I would think there should be a bag of sorts to keep the kit together, but no. I can let that slide. What I absolutely do not like? The short charging cord that only plugs into a computer or adaptor that doesn't come with it. And I can't use my old cord, as they changed the plug on the trimmer end. The cord is only about 6-8 inches long. So out of the box, my biggest beef is the charging cord. Not a small issue, but nothing to send anything back over. I thing I'm going to like it almost as well as my old one, even with the charging inconvenience issue.

I bought this Braun beard trimmer on Amazon, and it’s easily one of the best grooming tools I’ve owned. My 4th Braun in 20 years & the best. It’s sharp, powerful, and gives a super clean trim every time. The different length settings are easy to adjust, and the battery life is impressive — I’ve gone multiple trims without needing a recharge. It feels solid and well-built in the hand, and the design is sleek and modern. Whether I’m doing a quick cleanup or shaping my beard more carefully, it handles the job effortlessly. Simple, not fancy, inexpensive, very good for the price. Had an older version, lasted many years, then covid hit, I decided to crop real close what little hair I have left, so I go to the back porch and I’m a less scraggly old desert rat. Only reason I replaced it with the newer version was the blades were getting dull. Does whatever configuration of facial hair I’m sporting, the remains of my hair on my head, even comes with a nose hair thingy, works pretty good. New version is almost exactly the same, minor differences are the power button is a little different and the cord is usb, so it doesn’t have a dedicated power block,,, more convenient that way and better for the environment— one charging block does my iPad, iPhone and shaver— and a couple flashlights actually. So, yes, I’d recommend it, not fancy, sturdy and gets the job done.

Disappointed and frustrated...

I needed to replace a 20+ year old trimmer, also made by Braun, because it would no longer hold a charge, and I didn't want to build a new battery pack for it, as the NiMH batteries would have cost as much as this trimmer. So, after getting this, it seemed to work fine. Then, after 3 months of use, it stops working. I can hear it trying to power on, but the beard trimmer head isn't working. I take the head off, as it can be swapped with the ear/nose hair trimmer head, and find the compartment filled with beard trimmings. This shouldn't happen. Researching this, I find that other people have been having the same issue. Beard trimming are getting under the head, and clogging up the shaft and gears, as well as getting mixed in with the grease, making the trimmer inoperable. It's an obvious design flaw. Unfortunately, I'm out side of the return window for this, and Braun's warranty does not cover this issue, not that I'd want a replace with the exact model that has the same flaw. So, what would have been a 5 star review, as when it did work it did a great job of trimming, it gets a 1 star review as it has an inherent design flaw that leads to inoperability.

Excellent trimmer

Ive had this trimmer like 8 months now and it works really well. It’s adjustable so I usually use anywhere from 3-8 mm for my beard depending on the length I’m feeling at the time. It also works very well for body trimming on body and private area (even the 🥜’s 😂) rather than using a razor. It’s crazy bc I was recently given the Braun 9660 free (I think that’s what it’s called?) it was a $150 trimmer when my step dad bought it a a year ago and tbh it works the exact same absolutely no difference in trimming abilities surprisingly.. the battery doesn’t last as long but still a quite awhile so I don’t have to charge it often. If I could buy either or I’d go with this one.. Whatever trimmer I grab first of the 2 is the one I use.. so for the price u can’t beat it! I doubt there’s a trimmer better for the same cost.

Does the job, but with a bit more effort

The trim guards on my previous shaver/electric razor broke, after several years of use. Not able to find replacement guards, I decided to give this one a try, keeping within the same price point as my previous trimmer/shaver. So far pretty disappointed. I have found, regardless of depth setting on the guards, it does not trim or shave well in the area between my bottom lip and chin. Whiskers are almost always longer there after a trim than rest of face (almost untouched). The design of the shaver makes it difficult to get in to tighter spots on the face. Its almost too big for facial use, in my opinion. I don't use this for my hair (haircuts and head hair trims), but despite it advertised for hair trims and facial hair, I suspect this will only work well for trimming hair/clipper haircuts for most users. For the less contoured surfaces of my face it works well. I also am not a fan of the dial system this utilizes. They do give you some guards but even at the lowest dial adjustment there is still too big of a gap from the teeth to the guard. I will say the ear and nose trimmer does a great job, but the tip of it starts to get pretty hot after a minute or two of use. I will continue to use this until I can find a better device at a similar price point.
