In complete love with nutritional yeast! I use this to sprinkle on everything including, but not limited to, popcorn, pasta, and grits in the morning. I love the nutty flavor that transforms when added to various foods. It has a slightly eggy/cheesy flavor that I absolutely love. One of my favorite foods to make with this yeast is vegan macaroni and cheese. It won't taste like the traditional macaroni and cheese but in my opinion that's a good thing. The expiration date is almost two years away which means you are getting a fresh product. I doubt it will take you that long to get through these shakers. I have purchased this brand before from here and it lasted me about three months but that was only with me sprinkling it on pasta and popcorn. Making mac and cheese it will take a lot more but it's so worth it. B vitamins is something that vegans tend to not get a lot of because it doesn't appear naturally in foods so I'm happy that this brand of nutritional yeast contains it so I know for a fact I'm getting the right amount.     • Reducing my bad cholesterol without statin drugs.
I really like this stuff. I'm no expert at nutrition so I won't bore you with anything that I copied from somewhere or from someone else. But I will tell you that I'm told it's very good for you and that no matter how I use it, it adds a nice flavor (different and unexpected at first) to whatever I put it with. I mix some in with soups, stews, salads, into mashed potatoes and I even mixed it in with some V8 juice once. I quit taking statins because I kept getting weaker and weaker. My left leg was really getting bad. I had to find something else to help me with my cholesterol problem. So, about a year ago I heard about this stuff and decided to quit the statins and give this stuff a try. After a couple of months (really) my strength was almost back and a few months after that I could easily walk without a cane. Once, when I ran out, I had to go without it for a few days and I actually missed it. Glad Amazon got it to me quickly. Oh, I also use Bragg's Mother Vinegar. Wow! Maybe I'll live to be 100. Of course, it might help if I quit smoking too!. ... show more

I am new to eating a plant-based diet. Parmesan cheese has been missed -- I've been incorporating this into foods to replace my beloved Pecorino Romano. At first, I was t sold exactly -- took getting used to -- since my initial purchase, I have placed another order -- I often put it on my pasta and have added it to tofu to attempt "scrambled eggs" -- this way of eating makes me feel better and for the first time in my adult life, all of my labs from my primary care physician are perfectly spot-on . . . To be clear from the start, I am a "true to the core" meat eater that originates from me growing up on a family farm where processing meat for food was expected. Chalk it up to age and the desire to live a more healthy lifestyle, but nevertheless I began researching alternative, more healthy protein sources. I am 6 ft and 240 lbs and have spent over 90% of my life in a gym or some similar exercise environment. I only put this detail in this review to give a clear emphasis on the importance of protein intake in my daily diet to preserve muscle tissue and strength. To put it blunt, I'm 100% sold on this stuff, it is amazing. As a cheese lover, i love the "cheesy bitterness" bite that when spread on dried vegetable chip, transforms my snack into some sort of healthy cheetos delight. I combine this with Quinoa (another super healthy wonder food I've discovered), I am able to fulfill my protein, amino acids, fiber and other great vitamin intake for the day. The upside? You get all the good stuff, without the heavy fat, cholesterol and other bad stuff. I recommend this product to all my "meat-eater" buddies and they have also become huge fans.
