My son loved these jeans. There was enough threading on the distressed part, so skin did not really show through. My son is 12 years old and weighs about 80 pounds and the jeans fit fairly well. These sat in my son's closet for so long before he could wear. There are no pull tabs to tighten waist which my child needs. Thenot sure if it's the fit but the thighs were a wider loser fit making the leg look a little funny being so skinny. But I liked the motto style.
