This bookcase looks great, is extremely sturdy, and holds a lot without being overwhelming. The overall quality is excellent. I’m very happy with it. A few of the pieces arrived damaged. I emailed the company on a Saturday, and replacements were on their way by Sunday evening. Very impressive, especially considering that their normal customer service hours are M-F! The new pieces arrived promptly, carefully-packaged, and in perfect condition. That experience eliminated the anxiety I had been feeling about ordering furniture online; I won’t have any reservations about buying from this company again in the future if I have the need. The only negative (for non-mechanical people like me) is that assembly was something of a challenge. My sister, who is an experienced carpenter, did it for me. There was a fair bit of grumbling about confusing and erroneous instructions, and a few times she had to backtrack a little once it became clear what the instructions should have said. I needed a shelf that was sturdy, looked great (I don't like vinyl covered "wood-look" furniture), and serve double duty as communications shelf and books/décor display. This shelf met all my needs. Pros: Real wood veneers, rich finish, sturdy, easy to modify to meet my needs. Cons: Heavy, recommend 2 man build (did it myself, back still hurts), need better instructions/part labeling.
