As a bartender, for 40 years, I’m pretty picky about my cocktail mixers. Most of them are too lightweight and they stick together. This one is made and separates very easily after shaking. Both sides are wonderful. I would highly recommend this cocktail mixer. A definite five star product.

I've been testing out different shakers recently as I've started making more drinks. I've used a variety of starter sets over the years, which often come with tools you don't need, or if you do need them, they're low quality. I have a few different kinds of Boston shakers already, but am always interested in seeing what else is available. This set looked way better than some other starter kits I've seen, so I gave it a shot. With this set, you really get the basics. You get a steel Boston shaker, a Hawthorne strainer, and a double jigger. This is really all you need to make a decent cocktail. No wispy ice tongs, whiskey stones, or any other useless add-ons I've seen in other kits. Though I prefer the glass/steel shakers, this all metal shaker is pretty nice. The insides are textured just enough to get a snug fit, and they easily separate when you're done shaking. I tend to use a nicer jigger, but this one works fine. It doesn't have any markings, so you just need to know it holds 1 ounce on the small end and 1.5 ounces on the larger end. If you need more precise measurements, you just need to eyeball it, which is why I use other jiggers. That said, this one is pretty decent. I've seen Hawthorne strainers in different shapes and sizes, with different sized handles. One starter set I used years ago had a really long handle that just got in the way. The one I use now has more of a nub than a handle. This kit is somewhere in between. It is long enough for those who want a handle, and short enough for those like me who don't. This makes the kit much more useful in my opinion. Overall this is a pretty nice set. It works well, has the right tools, and can easily get you started on your home bartending journey. I am pretty happy with it, and it definitely has a place at my bar among my other equipment.

This is a great set for making a large variety of cocktails. It's a great price for almost everything you need for a ton of cocktails. The seal you can create with the shakers is really good, and it's a generous space for lots of ice and movement. The jig is easy to hold and pour, and the strainer is pretty easy to clean. Everything is very solid. Two big thumbs up!

This was my first boston shaker, so while I can't quite compare it to other ones, I can say that it's a good enough shaker to have converted me! At an entry level price point, I think this is a fantastic value. As someone who's never used a boston shaker before, I found the construction of this to be fantastic. Quality on this is great. The shaker itself seals up well with no leaks. The strainer is also great quality and easy to clean. I've not made anything thick with it but thinner cocktails seem to be easy to clean. Overall a great set. Doesn't seem to rust but I'll update if it does after more use.
