I bought this to replace my receiver, speakers, and a TON of wiring. Turned out to be a great purchase, but the device could use some improvement. The sound is good but lacks bottom end. The app is nice but a bit confusing. The device will go to sleep after just a few minutes of inactivity, which requires me to open the app and power it back on. It gets easily confused if you have more than one input and requires use of the app to manually set the input. And… the advertisement of Bluetooth is damn-near a bald faced lie. Yes, it technically has BT, but it only works with Bose devices, nothing else. Do not buy this thinking you can/will connect your BT headphones to it, unless you own Bose headphones. As a workaround, I connect my headphones to my Amazon FireTV, because it has BT that actually works. ... show more

After installing my Bose 900 I had some weird problems. Got in touch with the Bose tech on Facebook messenger and they offered some various settings but really did not help the situation. I would cut on my LG TV and then turn on the speaker and it would cut the TV right back off again. Also, I have my XBOX connected to my TV and the sound was coming through just 2.0 and not 5.1 as it should. I would stream Amazon Video through my smart TV and not all the sound was 5.1 on that app as well. So neither I nor Bose could figure out what the problem was. My Bose is connected to my TV via e-arc HDMI so I should have been getting the maximum sound quality available. So as a last ditch effort I decided to change out the HDMI wire. I was using MONSTER CABLE since it's supposed to be a top of the line HDMI wire. Right? I exchanged that for the HDMI cable supplied with the Bose shipment. Viola! That was the problem all along. A faulty HDMI cable. Now it works as it should. Everything is 5.1 now. And I have the C.E.C set so that when I turn off the speaker it turns off the TV as well. This Bose sounds amazing. Depending on the source of the sound as in a movie or TV show it gives Dolby Atmos. I was pleasantly surprised when I was streaming the movie CLASH OF THE TITANS. I mean the surround sound was everywhere coming at me from both sides and even above my head. The scene where Perseus was walking through a cave and stuff started falling from the roof of the cave sounded like it was coming from my living room ceiling. LOL. So anyway I texted Bose again and told them I found the root of the problem and they were very happy for me and thanked me for telling them the solution to my problem. I had read other reviews on Amazon and they told of having similar problems so the answer just might be a faulty HDMI cable. Even though they may have a thick coating they have very fine wire inside and can still get damaged. Even though it's a bit pricey they are about two hundred dollars cheaper on Amazon which is why I ordered it. ... show more

    • Not Worth the Money!

I had great expectations as I have always loved the Bose sound. Got my first Bose speakers 35 years ago and have Bose and Harman kardonsystems in my cars. Because of this it didn't occur to me to look up the best 10 soundbars in the latest tech magazine before purchasing. No Bose system ranked in the top 10. I didn't get this for sound quality alone (which is very good) as much as I did for the surround sound effect that I expected by the Dolby atlas and Bose Geospatial programming. On this the 900 falls short. The speakers are great but so are some others ranked in the top 10 for half the price. I hate the look of multiple speakers throughout my living room so was hoping for the multidimensional sound from a single bar. All the sound comes straight at me with no left to right or high to low variance. If I was just looking for great sound I would have stuck with my 5 year old Sony soundbar. If you are looking for good sound or are willing to pair with the accessory speakers this would work. For a stand alone dolby atlas soundbar there are 5 rated higher that are less expensive! Only the Sonos Arc was highly rated as a single bar for multidimensional sound. It is $150 more then the Bose 900 and for those that dont want to or can't go there, there is nothing wrong with this bar. It IS a Bose. But fot me...? I will be returning this for the Sonos. If that disappoints, I'll be rehooking up my Sony. ... show more

Replaced our ancient Samsung flat panel with a new OLED and added this with a bass module. Amazing difference in audio quality. Among other things, I used to need Bluetooth headphones to hear the dialog in many shows or movies. With this combination, most of the time I don't. The clarity and definition of the sound it remarkable by comparison. We did all the BOSE room setup magic, which is quite humorous -- the process sounds like an alien with digestive issues, but it claims to optimize for your space and I can't fault the results! ... show more
