Beautiful and shiny. This chain is a nice heavier weight chain that has a shimmer when exposed to the light. I cannot comment on the durability of it as I have not had it long enough. The gold plating has yet to leave a green mark on my neck. I decided to get this to replace the broken chain for my pendant. I really wanted to like this necklace, but it didn't meet my expectations. While it looks attractive at first glance, it has more of a costume jewelry appearance than the look and feel I expect from jewelry advertised as stainless steel with 14K gold plating. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is. It almost feels like aluminum rather than stainless steel. I can't verify what the underlying metal actually is, but it didn't have the solid, substantial feel I was expecting from the product description. I was also disappointed in the color. Instead of the softer, warmer tone I normally associate with 14K gold, this necklace has a brighter, brassier finish that reminds me more of 18K gold or fashion jewelry. Because of that, it doesn't coordinate particularly well with my other 14K gold jewelry. To be fair, the necklace doesn't look bad on its own, and considering the price, it may be perfectly acceptable if you're simply looking for an inexpensive fashion accessory. However, if you're hoping for something that closely resembles genuine 14K gold jewelry or will blend seamlessly with an existing gold jewelry collection, I think you'll likely be disappointed. The 22-inch length is a nice option and works well if you prefer a longer necklace, but for me the color and lightweight feel outweighed that benefit. Overall, I can only give this necklace two stars. I thought that this chain looks much more expensive than it is. The color is "gold-er" than 14 carat gold - more like 18 carat, which is fine with me - it matches some other chains that I will be layering with it.
