I do place arch supports in them, for I have a high arch. They wear beautifully, and I get compliments on them frequently. I’m careful to not wear them in rain or around mud, for I fear what it might do to the suede. However, I got caught in the rain once, but the shoes fared well. These are so comfortable and look great too. I like the wide toe area as opposed to a pointed toe than squishes ties together. Bought these for a trip to Europe for everyday walking. Nice cushioning in the insole and the sole is rubber so nice soft landing on the foot. I could walk for miles in these. The brown is beautiful and looked great with my tan leather jacket. I struggled with how to rate these, because the quality and workmanship deserve five stars and I’ve no doubt they’d have held up for a long time — but for me, the fit was off. The length was as expected, but it was far too wide. I’m accustomed to having to stuff insoles and/or thick socks into my boots, since my foot is narrow (I buy AA when available, which is rare), but even with both thick socks and insoles, my heel slid up and down when I walked in these. I am 56 years old and retired. I have finally reached the point that I need comfortable shoes and am willing to pay more for shoes that are comfortable and fit. I saw these boots in the color blue and thought that they would look cute and be comfortable. I usually wear between a 9 or a 9 1/2. I read reviews and some said to order up a little. I decided to order the 9 1/2. As soon as I received them I put socks overtop the entire boot so I could walk around the inside of my house to see if they were comfortable. They felt a little snug. After walking around the house for a while, I decided that I loved the shoe but in order to be more comfortable I needed to order the size 10 and see if that felt better. I received the size 10 and I loved them immediately! I returned the 9 1/2 and kept the 10. I am so happy that I did! These are so comfortable and they are perfect for those skinny jeans because the jeans tuck right inside the boot. I wear dark socks because the side of the boot is a little open so if you had white socks, part of it would show on the side of the boot. If you are on the fence about buying, go for it because your feet will thank you. I can wear these all day long without any discomfort. I bought these boots and received them fast. However, they were not new they were used and disgusting. They were packaged as new, I tried them on, thought they were comfortable and felt like they were broken in. My heel felt funny so I removed them and the sole was falling in so I lifted up on it to adjust back in place and was completely disgusted on what I saw. There was so much animal and human hair throughout under the sole and inside the boot that I wanted to puke. The sole was ripped on one and shredded on the other. Under one sole there was a white pad like cutout that had a steak of red, either marker or blood looking like substance. I immediately put them back in the box and then noticed black dog hair throughout the box as well. Unacceptable and very disappointing. The packaging of the boots leaves room to improve. The tops of the boots are kind of bent and therefore cause a slight color change. The tie is not helpful. Doesn’t look as nice as the picture. I still like the boot but I really wanted to love them. The quality is fine as far as the leather. Comfortable. Easy to put on. Somewhat warm but not meant for very cold and not for snow or rain or slush. I knew that when I bought them. These are what I’d call “decorative” footwear. Just wanted more for the price. Expected more from this company. So in summary I am a bit disappointed as they came a bit mishaped. But they are still a good brand and hoping the more I wear them the more I’ll like them.
