I was about to spend $1200+ on this system but then I found it here, of all places, for significantly less. Box arrived a day late (who cares) but in great condition, which was a relief as I was afraid it might have been discounted due to warehousing scratch and dent, but not so. The components came very well packed from the factory. Build quality is top-notch. Don't be fooled by "ROBOTIC TIG WELD" eBay scrap, this system is HAND BUILT by someone who knows how to weld for strength. Update 9/10/13 Install notes: As you might have guessed, it's pretty much a guarantee that you'll shear the original exhaust studs. My 2005 has supposedly never seen winter and the copper nuts were still rust-welded on. I used a dremel to cut into the nuts lengthwise to break their torque, however this only worked for two of them, the remainders still sheared so I had to drill a small pilot and air hammer the other two out of the flange. DISCONNECT YOUR O2 SENSORS IF YOU HAVE TO DO THIS. I didn't and the excessive hammering broke the element in my rear bank sensor which was an unnecessary extra $180 and couple hours worth of labor the following weekend after my check engine light came on. I had read elsewhere the studs were 8mm so I thought I was smart and bought some nice stainless hardware before hand, but after getting under the car I found out the studs on my '05 were 10MM COARSE thread (2.5" long). Exhaust gaskets are not included. My originals were intact and may have been able to be reused, but I ordered new from FCP Groton anyway. Finally, the only other thing I noticed is that the exhaust likes to "walk" to the left sometimes, after driving its rested position is justified left in my bumper's cutout. I sliced down the side of a small length of spare fuel line and wrapped it around the left hanger to the inside of the left hanger bushing (from the rear looking forward) and this is doing a good job of keeping the exhaust from moving. I've had the system for about a month now and as it becomes more sooty inside its volume is increasing slightly. Still not "LOUD" but it's nice and is definitely noticeable from outside the car. The note itself is exactly what I was hoping to find, not raspy at all, very boomy under certain conditions and somewhat modest when you put your foot in it. ... show more

I looked all over for this kind of bolt-on performance. I love the sound of this exhaust. Bolt-on being the key word. No mods. Bolted right on. Love it.

Quality is great, looks really good. Easy bolt on. But the sound is ONLY SLIGHTLY different then stock 2002 330ci exhaust. The tone is a little deeper but not much. It's not really any louder. If you want more volume keep looking!!! 5 stars for ease of bolt on 5 stars for quality 1 star for sound dnd volume. So I can only give it 3 over all. ... show more

    • Nicest exhaust you can get for a 325
I've had one of these on my 325i for over 5 years. It is the best exhaust money can buy. It has a unique low sound. I wanted an exhaust that would sound good not like some loud ricer. The borla exhaust has the perfect sound. It's very low pitched and not super loud but trust me people can you hear you comming. It's just perfect. Not to mention it looks Very nice. Get this exhaust and you'll be a borla customer for life like i've become. ... show more
