Lifelong Borderlands fan, been playing since the OG game on 360. Im loving this Borderlands! When BL3 came out- the humor and writing killed it for me. At the time, I was 38. So, I wrote it off as a 'me' thing halfway through the game, and set it down. I just figured I grew out of the writing style and humor, and called it a day. No big deal- I DID enjoy it but not as much as I should have. Fast forward to BL4, and I had a choice: Series X, or PS5. Seeing as PS5 was having major issues at launch with memory leak issues, I opted for Series X. No biggie- its the primary platform I have always experienced BL on- and the controls are most familiar, so that was a solid pick. I havent had any major glitches or bugs really. It looks amazing- it pops my TV from fame mode to Dolby or Imax, which was different. It looks and plays amazing, and even though I am a bit more matured even now in my early 40's? The writing actually hits that note BL2 did for me. In fact, its my new favorite BL next to BL2. It's a solid, smooth, graphically amazing experience. Not upset in the least. The writing is on par with classic Borderlands, the gameplay is on par, and the loot drops are better than I remember: no complaints there either! I also remember with BL3 it was impossible if doing multiplayer to not have someone drop in and drop modded gear/weapons. That happens occasionally here, but no where as much as BL3 did. Very solid experience and purchase. If you can grab this game on sale, go for it! I reccomend however, only grabbing it up if you plan on playing it ASAP or soon- NOT to pick it up and hold off. Why? Cost. If you are going to wait a year you can most likely get the game and most of, if not all the SLC, as a bundle for way cheaper than the game itself with no DLC would be, on sale now. So be cognizant of your intentions to play or not, and let that rule out your choice as a key factor. I am NOT saying ignore reviews but everyone will have their own opinion, and of COURSE we all weigh in game wise on other's opinions. That's almost part of the modern.process of picking up any title now a days (unless hardcore fans- but let's be real, hardcore fans already have/had the game). However(!!!), cost of items matters, so thats why I give that advice. All the opinions and reviews in the world mean nothing if you pick up a game for like $40, dont touch it for a year (when opinions will assuredly shift due to patches/etc): and at that same price you get the game PLUS DLC. Just my guidance, take from it what you will, of course. Gaming uncle has spoken.

So far this has been a great addition to the Borderlands franchise. I do wish they would have more of the Borderlands humor, but I appreciate the matured shooter experience. No regrets with this purchase. It has been lots of fun.

So far an amazing game! I would say it is spiritually closer to BL2 and visually closer to BL3. Humor is a little toned down from BL3. The map is enormous and there seems to be an insane amount of content / missions. Highly recommend to all Borderlands fans.

I've only played roughly 15 hrs, but only because I'm currently playing other games. If I keep going back and forth, I forget what the buttons do. My honest opinion is...Not as good (again, so far) as BL2. BL2 is a game I've played over and over. However, BL4 is loads better than the Prequel and BL3, in both the story and mechanics (again, so far). I can definitely see myself playing this multiple times. Once I get around to putting effort into this, if anything changes, I'll fix the review. Otherwise, it seems worth the man hours to play.

This borderlands is by far my favorite one I've played since the first one. Yeah the bosses are more harder but thats what makes the game fun. The story is awesome so many different enemies. I love how you have to defeat a big boss in an event circle. The only thing I will complain about is....I wish when you find loot or get loot you can use it instead of the loot always being crappy. I absolutely love how you can change the vehicle, the color, so many more options for your skin color, guns and your tech gadget. The best thing about the game is the graphics.....absolutely love love love love!!!!!!!

Are you a fan of the BORDERLANDS series? Of so, you will like BL4. Same art style but the the game play is ALMOST the same, not in a bad way.in this installment you will be doing missions, side missions and challenges. Yes: look for this, find that and bring it back. I found the skill tree a bit confusing as well as the inventory/backpack organization. I’ve got a lot of hours in and still interested in playing no COD 7 for me…yet.

Platforming BS kills the fun of the game. You will spend twice the time trying to figure out how to get to the objective than actually playing the game. Everywhere you go, there will be impassable cliffs that force you to turn around and find another way. Unlike previous borderlands games, they have given you ONE path that lets you reach the objective and every other path will be a dead end of cliffs, invisible walls. In addition, when you use the feature to track your objectives, they will invariably send you on a dead end. Save your money for when it goes on sale.
