  • Does the Job and got a lightning deal
Style: Base Kit
I wouldn’t have bought this at full price but when I saw a lightning deal I had to buy. Depending on the machine you have you may also need to buy hardwood for the base.

  • Good Up To A Point
Style: Base Kit
I bought this late last year and finally got around to assembling it seven months later. All went well right up until the last of twelve screws which just didn't seem to want to go in. After some push from my DeWalt impact driver I discovered that the screw was hot enough to burn my finger but that the threads of the screw were completely worn off at the end. Closer inspection revealed that the roller section in question had one of three holes which seemed to be untapped (and the screw killed itself trying to cut its own threads). I lacked the necessary metric tap to fix the hole myself. I'd advise that you check for fitment before committing yourself. Otherwise the base seems to work as advertised once I managed to wrestle my old Delta cast iron drill press onto it. ... show more

  • Quality needs improvement
Style: Base Kit
Used this for my jointer. Able to fit the long, narrow shape. Works great and I love it, but like the many other reviews stated, the partially threaded lower plates, were an absolute pain. 9 of the 12 were ok and the screws threaded in ok, but 3 were really difficult. Needed a M8 tap to thread more completely. Directions were terrible. Once through the assembly, I love it. Dave D ... show more

  • Gets it done
Style: Base Kit
Small footprint helps save space in my little shop. Came with nyloc nuts instead of nuts and washers. That's fine, but as many others have said, the instructions are not so good, and having different parts didn't help. I'd buy it again (probably will, since mobile tools make a small shop work) but I'll wait a while, see if i can't find a sale. ... show more

  • Works well.
Style: Base Kit
This works well. Can drag on really uneven concrete, or at pitch changes. You’ll want enough wood as a base that the screws barely have enough length to catch, then torque it down. Double up if you’re using scrap 1/2” ply. I’d consider using four leveling casters instead, if you can easily mount them. That’s a lot higher cost tho. These are a solid value for the money. ... show more

  • Difficulty
Style: Base Kit
A lot of assembly to be done. Make sure you use 3/4 inch plywood or two1/2 inch pieces for a wheel base. If you don't the screws will be to long for the we wheel to work. I just takes a game of patience.

  • On a bandsaw
Style: Base Kit
I wanted to be able to reconfigure my garage as needed so fitting casters to the bandsaw was part of the plan. The caster baseplate holes are threaded so aligning the existing saw base corner holes to the baseplate was tricky. My first cut for the plywood was too big but I drilled the corner holes and test fitted the bolts and made adjustment cuts. Other reviews have commented on how the paint coating was thick and clogged the baseplate threads and this is very true so I put the baseplates in a vise and used a power drill to clear out the threads with one of the bolts after carefully starting the bolts by hand to avoid cross threading but I’m not complaining as I would rather have this to deal with than a thin protective coating. I coated the parts with paste wax for good measure. The bolts protruded through the bottom from 1/4” to 1/2” inch even though I used washers on both sides. Because the baseplate is threaded I could have cut them off even with the baseplates but used nuts so I wasn’t putting stress on just the baseplate threads. Then I cut the bolts even with the nuts and belt sanded them smooth to try to prevent them from hanging up on anything as the clearance to the floor was tight. Because the bandsaw is tall and top heavy my biggest concern was stability. I wanted to be able to still use a hand truck on the back frame side of the saw so I couldn’t position the casters on that side. That dictated my positioning. After testing the fixed legs with the locking casters having full clearance I think it is fairly stable for light work but for any work that could cause the saw to shift I think the saw needs additional support or something like outrigger weights. The casters do hang up on cement expansion joints especially if pushing but it is easier pulling. This might be less of a problem if the casters were larger but that would increase the saw’s center of gravity so the smaller casters are probably the better compromise for this application. I just installed this so can’t comment on long term use but it seems like a good assembly. ... show more
