The shelves are well supported by two metal bars and 4 screws. Assembly was not complicated as it has fewer parts of different sizes. Only gave 4 stars b/c it has only four tiers for each of the three sections, not five as the description indicated. Nonetheless it is well designed. It is much more expensive than other similar products though. It would have been worth the price were the shelves made of solid wood rather than of manufactured wood, the latter gets chipped very easily as it happened to one of the shelves. ... show more

I like unique, and this is it! I seen the other stands similar in shape but 1 review was a decision changer. The review stated that the display of the side shelves were "split in half" by those curved side rails. I blew up the pic to see what he was talking about and it was true! Putting larger plant on those shelves was not going to work. Yes, they were cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for. THIS stand is very sturdy. Has 2 straps to anchor it to the wall with hardware. The shelves are coated on BOTH sides and the frame doesn't cut the display shelves in half. The frame is VERY sturdy. I watched the how to build video and it was very helpful. I laid all my pieces out by number and built the unit on the floor (by myself). The hardware was complete and there were a few extras as well. The small button feet are adjustable so you can level it in your space. The box arrived intact and prompt. There was 1 piece of broken styrofoam BUT not 1 scratch, no brokon shelves and no bent frame pieces, so it was packaged very well. Overall, I loved this look from the first time I saw it. I was surprised how nice this was. After looking at many similar units online, I was nervous, as people spoke of unfinished undersides, stickers as screw covers, chips, etc. I got the black one. Shelves finished on both sides, hidden screws, heavy unit with anti tip straps. Middle shelves were wide. (Saw one review with photos where the middle shelf was really short like the ends. Clear instructions and fairly easy to put together! Came with wall anchors and we did use them! Like that I could adjust the height a bit with the leg pads.

I was so afraid I was not going to be able to put this together by myself. It took me 2.5 hours to complete it alone but in all honesty, it was soothing to be able to put this together and watch a movie and relax.

Needed something for the grandkid books. This arrived fairly quickly, I was able to put it together myself. I had a drill with a hex bit and that helped a ton. Sometimes I had to move a part because it had holes and the other one like it didn't and I hadn't noticed. Just watch that.
