The Book of Mormon text is unaltered and only arranged so that the reader does not need to go back and forth between two copies of the Book of Mormon in different languages.If you speak a second language or are learning a second language, you will love this! This is a great gift for an LDS recent convert or a missionary. It is also the perfect birthday / Christmas gift for any bilingual Latter-day Saint. Returned missionaries can also keep up on their acquired language by studying from the dual language Book of Mormon.For additional languages or to request a new language combination, please visit dualscriptures.com.The idea for this book was originally conceived when the author was on his mission in Sydney Australia where he was called to serve Korean speaking. Reading side-by-side while looking at two scriptures with verses on different pages was difficult and clumsy. Fast forward about 5 years, he saw that his mother-in-law was copy/pasting the Korean and English Book of Mormon in Microsoft Word and printing it on her home printer in order to read them together. As a side project, he created a crude copy for his mother-in-law and his mother (both native Korean speakers) using a self-publishing platform and produced three copies. In 2015, he was working with an investigator who spoke Korean natively and was learning English. He let her borrow his copy of the original version and decided to revisit the project to expand it out for all available languages. My daughter served a mission in Perú, and she is engaged to a Peruvian. I have always wanted to learn Spanish, and here is my motivation to finally do it. I bought this book for myself, and it is exactly what I expected: one column of scripture on each page is English, and right next to it is the same scripture in Spanish. It is very easy to look back and forth , which boosts comprehension. I am also buying this for my future son in law. He is a returned missionary, and I know he loves scripture. I am thinking that this book can help him while he is learning English, but also be comforting to him once he lives in the US because of the Spanish. I do have one small complaint about the book: the printing is not as dark and clear as I would like it to be. I highly recommend this valuable tool to anyone who is already bilingual or someone who is trying to learn either English or Spanish. ... show more

Wasn't sure what to get my missionary for his birthday and then I saw this book. He had mentioned that he was trying to study his Book of Mormon and El Libro de Mormon next to each other so it would help him with his Spanish, but also to understand it better in Spanish. I ordered this book and took it to get spiral-bound to make it a little easier to study, but they didn't have the spirals large enough (it's almost 800 pages). So I divided it in two separate books and sent it. I loved his response that even though the other presents were great, he was most excited for the Side-by-side books! So worth it!!! ... show more

The review that suggested having the book spiral bound was brilliant! It was a LOT more than $1.50 for me, but the $17 (in 2026) was still worth it to me. I think being able to open it all the way will make studying the English/Spanish Book of Mormon so much more convenient for my missionary. It was a quick cut of the binding and the books (400 pages each) were spiral bound in 10 mins! Brilliant.. and don't forget to pay up for the front and back clear covers. ... show more

Fabulous tool for those learning a new language! Like most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I've read the Book or Mormon many times. As I strive to learn Spanish, it only makes sense to use that knowledge as an area of overlap, where I can find familiar passages and thoughts expressed in my new language. This side-by-side presentation allows me to do exactly that!! There's no gimmick here; it's just as simple and straightforward as it sounds. Look up Moroni 10:3-5. You find those verses in English on the left of the page, and in Spanish on the right. It will be a while before I feel confident ordering food or asking directions in Spanish, but I can already share important concepts with Spanish-speaking acquaintances without fear of messing it up. I love this! I’m learning so much Spanish this way, and gaining new insights from this incredible book. I do wish it came spiral bound or in hardback. I’m going to need to recover mine or get it spiral bound so it stays nice looking. The side by side translations are fantastic!
