I'm a retired mechanic, now my hobby is Bonsai trees. Knowing about tools, I say this is a great buy. Love the box and tools and they work great for me. Just follow instructions in cleaning them and they will last forever.

I had an issue with the shears and a with the handles bending. The blades of the shears are bit completely straight and caused them to bite into each other. I tried straightening in a vise and filing down the burr from them biting. Also, the concave cutter handles bent when I removed some small branches from my ficus. I assume this was me not knowing what would be too thick. I still really like this kit and bought one as a gift for my step-father for this Christmas.

The tools are quite attractive and seem simple enough to use - and of course the nice wood box to store them in is most attractive - wow said attractive twice- Well, the entire kit is attractive! love this item for sure.

These bonsai tools are not quality. The box was nice, keep the box. The blades on all were horribly dull and poorly aligned. The blunt cutters were slightly bent and I had to bend them back in shape to open them. I mistakenly read to much in others reviews. There are better tools out there.
