  • Poor editing and quality control.
I don’t normally write many reviews but I felt that something needed to be said about the poor editing and quality control in this book. This book might have some decent material but it is hard to overlook the editing errors in this book. There are multiple instances where there are missing letters out of words. Unfortunately there are also many grammatical mistakes. Could be a good book if they would fix the errors. ... show more

  • Excellent book to introduce Eastern readers to the Occidental perspective of bonsai as both a discipline, and an art form
Not a exactly a How To book. More about the big picture, and framing that knowledge within the traditional understanding of options for bonsai creation, growing/training, and doing so within the constraints of the art forms traditions. Seems like a small thing, but such advice is super important for serious, but novice, practitioners. Not a long book. But one well worth reading, and taking serious notes from, clearly advice from an expert well worth noting. ... show more
