This is a nice unit. It's solid, It looks good, everything bolted up together without issue. This comes with a Lot of pieces, fortunately they are all labelled and the instructions-pictures work well. This came with a bolt to wall kit, I highly recommend fastening this to a wall either with the kit provided or some other way that is secure, as in "attach to a stud." Plan on two people for assembly! I can't stress this enough. One industrious person could do this but it would not be fun. I had hex bits on hand for a cordless drill which really speeded things up, if you rely on the provided hex wrench, plan on "hours" of assembly. Were very pleased, it works perfect for our needs, the kiddos which it's really made for love it.

Overall good value and ease of assembling. Except in assembly, the cross pieces were a little tight to fit into the slots. Then in use by an 8 year old and 11 year old the cross pieces sagged. This made disassembling difficult. The cross pieces should be made of stronger material. The next time I set this up I will put a thin sheet of plywood or ? to distribute weight. This will be an extra nuisance that I do not want.

Most of the precautions that I am listing below should be put at the beginning of the instructions by the manufacturer. Don't take these precautions as a negative comment on the quality of the unit. They go more to the directions/instructions being lacking necessary helpful detail. With the current instruction set, it is definitely necessary to be cautious. This unit will be satisfactory for your kids for years. (I'm presuming adults would rather sleep in an individual bed.) Good quality material. Good quality bolts, screws, etc., as long as they are all there. Check the quantities of each bolt, screw, washer, etc., BEFORE starting to assemble. Also check that all items of a single kind are actually identical. (Got one machine screw with a smaller-than-the-others head. The head slid right through the washer. It was made that way.) Have a raised flat surface, 4' x 4' minimum, available to work on. (Or stop frequently to rest your sore back! lol) It is easier, and helpful, to mount some of the machine screws on the supplied hex wrench BEFORE attempting to insert in place. That aligns them when they have a long travel through spaces you can't see through. Two people are a MUST to assemble this. Some pieces (the 4 end poles) must be oriented properly. It is not easy to see this and they CAN be put together wrong. The bed racks can go on regardless of the pole orientation; but the side guards--not so much. That makes it very time consuming and frustrating to have to do the tear down and re-assembly. Once together, it is a very satisfactory unit.

This bed is easy to put together and is pretty sturdy. ***** I DO NOT RECOMMENDED FOR 12 YEARS OR OLDER*** My issue is that the weight limit on the bottom bunk is listed as 350 lbs and my daughter weighs just over 200. The slats on the bed are bowed under her weight... The slats on the top bunk come up because its a tongue and groove system instead of screwing them down. Pretty frustrating. I'd have to disassemble to return and I threw away the original box so it isn't an option. I'm left trying to make it work.
