AA's seem fine but AAA's not so much. Typical scenario: Load 4 AAA's and then when you load the fifth one, batteries 2 and 3 pop out. Put those back in place and 4 and 5 pop out. Put those in and 1 and two pop out. This goes on and on until you fall to the floor laughing convulsively at the futility. Attempting to load all 16 slots with AAA's is an exercise in self hatred. If you enjoy excruciatingly long games of whack-a-mole this charger was designed just for you! Other than the pop out nightmare, it's fine. I like the display and the fact you can charge odd numbers of batteries and that you can mix and match AA's with AAA's. If you buy it I recommend you buy a wooden mallet to go with it. UPDATE: I had decided to simply keep this thing and deal with the whack-a-mole problem (could be helpful for boosting declining hand-eye coordination in us old dudes) but then it took 10 hours and 50 minutes to charge the 9 AAA's I was able to load into it. Rating dropped from 2 stars to 1 and this item is being drop kicked to the nearest UPS for return to Amazon. UPDATE: After posting my negative review the company reached out to me and made things right. They sent me a revised model and it works perfectly! GREAT customer service!

Works great as for the other comme ts of the aaa batteries some times popping out is true but not a big issue at all. Definitely worth buying if you want to convert to rechargeable batteries. Plus it does fully charge and not like other that only 3/4 charge.

The Bonai 16+2 Bay AA AAA 9V Battery Charger has been a really helpful addition to my gear — especially for supporting our church tech needs. It not only charges a large number of AA and AAA rechargeable batteries (up to 16 at once), but also lets me charge two 9V batteries at the same time, which is a huge plus. What makes this charger even better is the built-in display. It clearly shows the charging status of each battery, so I always know which ones are ready and which still need time. I use it primarily for charging mic batteries, lavalier (lapel) batteries, and 9V batteries for our bass setup — and it hasn’t let me down. We purchased this unit 6 months ago, only used it slightly. When we went to use it the other day, it had failed. I contacted Bonai Power and they sent me a new unit. We had the new unit in a week. I really like this unit, it's ease of use and the clear, easy to read display. I am very happy with the support that was given, better than most companies we deal with. I am considering the purchase of other Bonai products as well now because of the prompt resolution of the issue that arose. Thank you!

Bonai 16+2 Bay AA AAA 9V Battery Charger for NiMH NiCD does work and fully charges aa and aaa batteries, IF you remove them as soon as they are charged, if left in, it appears to revert to a storage charge. I have an 8 cell Bonai that is a faster charger and will refresh batteries, but loading a "fully charged" 2800 mAh NiMH batteries from it will only show 3/4 of a charge in this one and will take a couple of hours to top off. The good news is a higher charge, the bad news is it takes a long, long time if you charge more than 4 batteries at a time. If you check out the bottom of the charger, the 500 mA charge rate for aa's is only for the first four slots, if the remaining slots are used, it drops to 250mA. This is great for battery longevity, but a PITA if you want your wife's candles charged the same day, and I need all 16 of those cells. Am currently for another charger.
