  • This device saved me a fortune by turning my wired Bose headset into wireless!
UPDATE: June 24, 2023 Originally, I gave the AirMod a 4 ⭐ rating because of its design that 1) doesn't permit charging while using it and 2) requires use of a non-standard, proprietary cable for charging. However, I've since revised my rating to 5 ⭐. Now, 5 years after purchase, I'm still using this adapter with my Bose QC 15 headphones, which, amazingly, are still working well after 13 years! I've had to replace the ear pads on them about every 2 years, and all of the leather on the headband has nearly worn off, which means that the padding is gone, too. Yet they are still very comfortable. Before getting this AirMod adapter, I never used my QC 15 headphones. In fact, I lost the original cable that came with the headphones years ago. However, since owning the AirMod BT converter, I don't feel the need to use cables, even though I use my Bose headphones nearly every day. Even with all of that use over the past 5 years, I still get at least 6 to 8 hours of battery life per day per charge, and the AirMod has worked flawlessly with every phone and other Bluetooth device I've ever tried it with! The only reason I'm posting this update is because I came to Amazon because thought I'd lost my charging cable (I found it). I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a replacement, since the product is so old. Well, I was thrilled to know that, not only can I a purchase another AirMod for $45, which is what I paid for my current one back in 2018, but I could purchase a replacement charging cable for only $10! I'm just going to go ahead and purchase a second unit so that I will always have one charged and ready to go, since the unit can't be used while charging, and I'll also have a spare cable on hand! ORIGINAL REVIEW... Bose should just partner with these folks. I had an old Bose QuietComfort 15 headset that I was going to get rid of because I wanted the convenience of wireless. I saw this device on Amazon and decided to try it because of the large number of positive reviews. I didn't expect it to work so well! Now, I'm still using my Bose headphones at least 7 years after buying them, plus, I saved a fortune by not having to purchase the dedicated wireless pair. PROS - Fits so nicely onto the Bose headset that you'd think it was a factory mod; you can even leave it attached and the headphones will still fit nicely inside the original Bose headphone case - Good sound quality - Pairs very quickly using a dedicated pairing button - Able to control volume, fast forward to next song, and rewind to previous song CONS - Can only pair with a single device at a time. Personally, I like this feature because I don't have to worry about interruptions from another device, and since this connector pairs so quickly, switching devices is easy. - I wish it had an OFF/ON switch with dedicated positions. Instead, this connector has a single OFF/ON button that you have to hold for a few seconds. - For charging, uses a connector that is USB A to 1/16" female. I wish that it used USB A to micro-USB or USB C. When I travel, I have to always make sure to carry this extra connector with me. Fortunately, it fits nicely inside the original Bose headphones case. - The fast-forward/rewind buttons are shared with volume up/down, which is not ideal, but does save on cost. - When finished with a listening session, you have to remember to turn off both this connector and the Bose headphones themselves. ... show more

  • One of the best things I have ever bought, period.
I got one about a year ago to use at work and it is simply awesome. These are expensive headphones and it completely eliminated the need to upgrade to something with BT built in, which is a huge savings, and if your phone doesn't have a headphone jack you no longer need to carry around an adapter. First off they fit and contour perfectly, and ergonomically the buttons are laid out in such a way that makes them easy to reach and use. It easily paired with my phone and the range is excellent. The sound quality is just as good as a wired connection and the built-in microphone and volume control also work very well. Unlike many BT speakers and devices which change volume by manipulating the volume on your phone, these work independent of the phone's volume. This is important as setting the volume on your device high while keeping the built-in volume on the headphones low increases battery life. I have seen some reviews knocking the battery life and I have to respectfully disagree with those who say the charge doesn't last long enough as I had no problems using them for 10-12 hour workdays and that is more than acceptable for something this small. The only knock I have with it is the usb charger, which connects via the headphone jack, and only because it means it needs their own bespoke cable. However, it works fine, and the upsides to it are that the fit is real secure so it won't ever fall off on accident like micro usb's do all the time; and, let's face it, micro usb ports aren't robust and are generally a weak spot on many small electronics, so eliminating one just means one less thing to go wrong. Overall, clearly, I could not be happier with this product, and if you have a pair of QC15's do yourself a favor and add it to your cart right now, you won't be disappointed and it will absolutely modernize them and save you the cost of replacing or upgrading. Honestly, this goes alongside the Tunai Firefly as one of the best things I have ever bought. As for battery life, I have no idea why people are complaining, mine lasts well over 12 hours using them continuously and I've yet to had them go dead. ... show more
