    • Honest Review of All Scents
This is an HONEST and colorful review of all Outlaw scents in the sampler pack (you must buy the sampler pack directly on the Outlaw Soaps website). Disclaimer: I am not a cologne guru, and my opinion of these scents is my own. TRY THEM OUT FOR YOURSELF! Review: I've been blind-buying scents from the internet for a few years now, and I have found what I like. MY nose prefers colognes that offer the widest mass appeal, such as Nautica Voyage, Polo Red, Aqua di Gio, Aventus, Sauvage, etc. If I go with a unique scent, it MUST be superb...think Acqua di Parma Oud. My voyage into solid colognes has been less than stellar, but I figured I would give Outlaw Soaps a try since they are one of the few solid cologne makers offering a sample pack. THIS IS A PLUS! The sample pack came with 5 scents. My short review of each is below ranked from my most to least favorite: The Gambler - Smells like your average potpourri. In my opinion, this is the best scent. The Badlands - Smells like walking into Garden Ridge Pottery, which is now the "At Home" store. Calamity Jane - A feminine scent, but better than the bottom two. Potpourri, but with berries. Fire in the Hole - Smells like woodsy Playdoh. Blazing Saddles - Smells like urinal cake. Keep in mind, urinal cake is supposed to be a pleasant scent that masks the smell of urine. But...only 1 thing in the world smells like urinal cake and that is urinal cake! I think the company is doing an excellent job in their mission and how they make their products. I think they offer AMAZING customer service. I like everything they do from a business standpoint. I just can't get behind the scents. 3 stars. Great company with a wonky product. ALL OF THIS is my opinion. I mean, I'm the guy who likes black licorice, so my opinion isn't really that great. lol. PLEASE give them a try for yourself! ... show more

You’re new as well? Cool. I like the fact it was sent in completely recyclable packaging and that it comes in a metal tin. The scent itself is amazing. It’s just as promised and oddly enough the gunpowder notes work really well. Silage I’m not sure about, but I think it’s more of the you got to get closer to smell it. Which is great for offices and not being that guy who sprayed one too many times at the bar. Which is a good thing. ... show more

    • Does not smell "perfumey"
This solid cologne does not overwhelm. It also does not smell like gunpowder or leather. Sorry. But, it does have a very pleasant "manly" bouquet (yes, I used those two words together). Sandalwood, sage, sweet but not flowery, cinnimonish, a bit pepperish, but not enough to induce a sneeze -- subtle. You've got to smear it on to keep getting a good whiff of it. For the price, worth a try IMO. To compare to another solid cologne, Duke Cannon "Bourbon"... this is FAR better in that is it not overwhelming and "sweet" smelling as "Bourbon". From a person that thinks most men's colognes smell like scented toilet paper or hand sanitizer -- so, the review may not be worth that much. ... show more

    • Scent lasts, but not the scent I want
Electronics and plastic. Fresh plastic containers. That's what this smells like. I really really wanted to love this scent. I love gunpowder I love the smell of guns maybe it's the sage bush that's overpowering. But I want this on three different occasions and every single time someone said, "oh, what is that smell?" But in a bad way. I'm not going to lie I was kind of embarrassing. I just get plastic, electronics, inside of computer kind of smell. But the longevity of the smell on your skin does emanate for quite a while which I'm impressed by. Unfortunately I just can't stand the smell. It does not smell like gunpowder at all or anything manly. I would wear this and it smells like I've been spending all day in the server room with the IT department. ... show more

Completely as described. I smell the hint of leather. I hope you enjoy. I’m not much of a “foo foo guy”, but I completely enjoy the essence of gunpowder and leather. Highly recommended.
