This hex bit set is one of BOEN’s Professional Series. BOEN’s Professional Series tools are forged from Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel. Additionally, BOEN’s Professional Series tools are laser-engraved with the name of the manufacturer (BOEN). The tools are also heavily roll-marked with the tool size and the roll-mark is in-filled with a yellow-orange paint to clearly identify each tool. There are eight (8) impact-rated, universal joint equipped, metric-sized hex bits included in this set. The tool set includes the following sizes: 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, and 19mm). The tools are forged from Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel and have an oiled black manganese phosphate finish. All of the tools provided in this set are impact-rated and each is equipped with a universal joint. The set is provided in a bespoke custom case. METALURGY, FINISH & MARKINGS The choice of Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel allows the tools to be made of a superior steel alloy with a high tensile strength, which can be forged, machined, and finely finished using modern machinery and techniques. Tools made from Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel will stand up to very high stresses, are durable, and are resistant to wear, rust, and corrosion. They are forged, machined, roll-marked (where applicable), heat treated, finish ground, and finally, the finish is applied. The finish on these tools is a fine-grained, very smooth black manganese phosphate finish that is very tough and well suited for this application. Each tool is laser-etched with the name of the steel alloy used to forge the tools (CR-MO for Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel) and the name of the manufacturer (BOEN). The tools are roll-marked with the size of the tool and a circumferential groove around the tool which has been in-filled with yellow-orange paint. Please note that this tool set is one of BOEN’s Professional Series and as such the tools are forged from Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel. Being impact rated, these tools may be used with conventional hand tools, drill drivers, impact drivers, or with true impact wrenches as the user’s needs dictate. Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel is the preferred alloy to be used for impact-rated tools. DESIGN & FEATURES Each tool employs a radiused corner design where the 90° inside corners of the square-drive socket are radiused (i.e., rounded and expanded) to prevent the accumulation of stress within the steel and the possible eventual cracking and failure of the tool. The radiused corner design of these tools is purposeful and intended to lessen the likelihood of this failure mode occurring. Please note that these tools are designed for use as impact tools. The design of the universal joint section of these tools will allow for a 24° angle between the square-drive socket and the center line of the hex bit section. This angle can be maintained for the entire 360° rotation of the square-drive socket thus allowing for a smooth rotation during the removal or insertion of a hex drive fastener. THE CASE These tools are provided in a beautiful bespoke case that has utilizes a custom cut and fitted high-density Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) polymer foam material to securely store the individual set components. Each tool has a custom cut position in the EVA foam piece and each position is marked with the size of the tool to be inserted. The case base is made of polypropylene polymer and is yellow in color. The cover for the case is transparent and while it could theoretically be made of polypropylene polymer, it is more likely molded of polycarbonate polymer. The case is made in two unique pieces and utilizes a true hinge design for a long life. The case has two bale-type, over-center latches that secure the case and a molded-in handle for carrying the case. The case is really oversized for the tools stored inside the case. Personally, I would prefer to see more tools in the case or a more space-efficient case used for the product. SUMMATION This is a very nice ½”-drive impact-rated, universal joint equipped, metric-sized hex bits (Allen Bits). These tools are forged from high-quality Chromium-Molybdenum alloy steel, employ the proper stress mitigation design elements, and are all properly sized for Metric tools. They are finished with a fine-grained black manganese phosphate finish that has been oiled. These tools are presented in a very nice case. These tools should last the average user for many, many years of faithful service provided they are properly used and not utilized in a manner inconsistent with their design and purpose. I have other Boen Impact Sockets and Find them very well made of high quality CR-MO Steel. They are built tough and have taken the abuse of rough use and the hammering of a high quality air impact wrench abuse without showing signs of wear. I particularly like their new Size Markings using both Yellow and White Paint. They are super easy to quickly see with aging eyes like mine. The Swivel Sockets are made with the swivel snug enough to stay in place and yet flexible for use. The set comes in a Clear View Front Heavy Duty Case. The Sockets Fit Very Snugly in the Case and won't move or fall out. You are able to clearly identify the size of the socket before you ever open the box. I am very happy to have received these sockets because I have a project that I have been working on that I really needed them. I work on all type of automotive and am currently working on a motorcycle with hex bolts I haven't been able to clearly get to without a swivel socket. The ones I was able to get my other socket, I wasn't able to remove by hand. I think someone probably used a wrong type of thread locker and I was afraid to do damage to the threads during removal. These bolts were way past any torque specifications to remove them and damage was going to occur if I just muscled them out. Well to make a long story short, these sockets saved me. I placed the correct sizes of these swivel sockets on my air impact wrench and just a quick burst must have shattered the sealant without damage to the case or bolts and removed the bolts. The slight chamfer on the BOEN Socket ends also made it easy to insert the sockets into the bolts when I was in a bad position. "Happy Day" BOEN saved my day and worked Beautifully! I Highly Recommend these BOEN Impact Sockets. They are made precise and heavy duty and should last me my lifetime. Also BOEN SOCKETS Come with a LIFETIME Warranty.

BOEN is one of my go-to brands, and this 1/2" drive impact hex set reinforces why. I’ve used these on suspension components and larger fasteners where smaller hex bits just won’t do the job. The 17mm and 19mm sizes especially come in handy when I'm doing heavier automotive work. They seat firmly in the fastener, which matters when I'm putting real torque through them. The steel construction feels solid. I’ve run them on a breaker bar and an impact, and they handle load without twisting or rounding. The black phosphate coating holds up well in the shop environment and resists rust even when tools get exposed to moisture. The swivel function is extremely useful in tight areas. Being able to get that slight angle instead of needing a perfectly straight shot saves time and frustration. The joint moves smoothly but still feels tight and controlled under torque. The yellow painted size markings are easy to read, even in low light or when everything’s covered in grime. That’s a small detail, but it makes a difference during real work. The case is sturdy and keeps everything organized, and yes, they do arrive with a light oil coating. I wiped them down before first use and they were ready to go. Overall, this is a heavy-duty, professional-grade hex bit set that performs exactly how I expect BOEN tools to perform, strong, precise, cost effective, and built for real use.
