Airtight seal keeps my coffee beans super fresh. Copper top looks great with my other espresso equipment. One review said the lid is hard to get off, but I found that it is easy with a little practice. I'm glad the lid fits tight & won't fall off if I lift the container by the lid, yet it is easy to remove when I need to. A couple other reviews complained about thin glass, but I can tell you from personal experience that borosilicate glass is the same stuff used in laboratory equipment. Both light and very strong. That said, it IS still glass and will break if misused - Just common sense for glassware. Also, some people like me just prefer using glass over plastic for its superior protection of freshness. This is absolutely a fabulous product. I have owned other Bodum products such as the French press - This company keeps earning my business with outstanding quality and beautiful designs that look great in any kitchen. I bought two of these, one to store q-tips and the other to store cotton pads, for my bathroom. They are quite pretty and very sturdy. They store a lot of both q-tips and cotton pads, and look great in my bathroom. However, I have to knock the review down by a star because holy cow it is dang near impossible to open the jars! I suppose this would be a good thing for air-tightness but I am so afraid of accidentally flinging the jars or breaking the lids when I go to open them. I'm very clumsy so I feel like it's inevitable at this point, but I sure hope I don't because they seem like very good storage containers. ... show more

My daughters and I all love and collect Bodum Chambord French Press coffee makers. One of the girls asked for a copper Bodum this year for Christmas, and requested this storage jar and a matching coffee scoop to go along with it. I got her the French Press plus this storage jar, and my other daughter threw the scoop into her sister's stocking. The recipient was so happy to receive these items and I could tell she really wanted them. The quality is ALWAYS there with Bodum, as is the beauty, even though these things tend to be pricey. I will say that this jar was packaged in a ridiculously reckless way, with virtually nothing to protect it in transit. I was amazed that I did not find it broken in the box. ... show more

I have this entire set, from the creamer and sugar holder to the French press to the tea pot. I love them. They are absolutely gorgeous and I keep them in my counter to show them off. My entire kitchen is copper, glass, and wood themed and I love the Bodum products because of this. I love pretty but rustic items. These fit the bill and are super functional. The top also has a really great seal, so I don’t worry about it coming off. My only issue is that the glass can be slippery and when taking off the top, it takes some force. If it breaks, though, I’ll replace it, so that’s saying something important! I keep my ground coffee in here. We grind our own for cold brew, but I use a French press for my fiancé’s coffee sometimes, and the coffee for that I keep in here. ... show more

I bought this to match a Bodum press in the same design. Am very pleased it keeps my ground coffee fresh. There is a satisfying feel to the top sealing well when putting the cap on, and that bit of pressure you feel when removing the cap - all giving me confidence it is maintaining that air-tight seal we want for our coffee. For the best french press coffee, preferably you're grinding fresh before using - but I grind all mine on the weekend for ease of use during the hectic morning time during the week. Sealed with a kiss 💋of rose gold. It matches my other rose 🌹gold pieces perfectly. It fits a whole 12 oz. bag of dunkin donuts coffee. I can't smell the coffee through it which was the problem with my old container. I want the smaller one for my creamer to make a "set". The lid is heavy and seals completely and tight.
