I decided to get some trailer steps for my 25yo bass boat/trailer. Actually they're more for me than the trailer. I was getting tired of stepping up on the trailer wheel wells to get in the boat, especially where I have it parked next to a detached garage. I started using a step ladder to get in the bow of the boat. I decided on getting the trailer steps so I did a lot of research. Prices range from $100 to over $500. Most are generic steps. Some are custom built for your specific trailer. After all the research, I thought I would give this trailer step by OUTPRIZE a chance. It is a lower priced 3 step trailer step. Was delivered quickly. Product was packaged very nicely. Instructions (pictures) were clear on what to do and how to assemble. Took me maybe 45 - 60 minutes to install, after making some backward mistakes. The hardware take 17mm sockets/wrenches. I used a socket set and a 17mm deep well socket for the U-bolts. I also used my 1/2" impact wrench to put the nuts on the U-bolts most of the way, then hand tightened them. Otherwise it takes a while to put the nuts on them. At first I wasn't sure if this specific trailer step (with 3 steps) would work and clear the boat. I had to loosely assemble the steps first to see if it would fit, and after a couple of placements on the trailer, it worked. As you can see from the pictures, the plate that goes on the trailer is 6" wide. I wanted to place the steps in front of the amber trailer light, but didn't have enough room. But the steps worked well being placed behind the light. Also worth noting, the steps 4" away from the trailer mount. The steps do not go to the top of the gunnel on the bass boat, but that is fine. I can step right in from the top step. The handle is a 2-piece handle. It is sturdy. The pieces are joined together with a button on the bottom piece. This is nice in case you want to remove the top piece when driving. But there is a little play between the two pieces and you can feel that when you are using the steps. I took one picture to show how far the handle sticks out from the trailer. As you can see, it is not as far and the right wheel of the trailer. The steps are very well built. Looks like nice welds. The steps have a gritty type pad on them for traction. I think for the money, this is a very nice trailer step.

Very well built, fast delivery, unfortunately does not fit my boat and trail. Seems very sturdy well packaged. This was a top mount 3 step just too high for my ranger bass boats.
