Put everything together and installed a nice millennium seat on it. I sat on it and it clicked in place. Tried to pull back out from base and took an insane amount of force to remove the pole from the pedestal mount (it was like it was stuck). Decided to return since I need it to be quickly removable. Then I tried to remove the seat mount from the pole which also was so stuck that I had to smash it repeatedly with a Mallet to get it free. ... show more

Nice products but I didn't understand that the seat mount (the black part) locks into the pedestal and you can't get it out. SO we are ordering a NEW block seat mount go go with another pedestal that is taller. I believe it is DESIGNED to lock the mount in place. We couldn't get it off.

Great replacement for my worn out boat seat. The parts are well made and the metal is nice and thick. It was harder getting the old seat off the boat from years of corrosion than butting this new boat seat on. Really good value for the money.
