Quality construction offers flexible large 3.7" diameter round ear muffs that rotate within the U channel or 3 1/4" by 5" rectangle ear muffs . The U channel fits almost all outboard or inboard/outboard I/O engines with a 9 1/4" measurement from the inside of the channel to the center water holes. The motor flusher easily connects to a standard garden hose with the included washer. Comes with an option quick connect adapter to use with quick connect hoses. After wrestling with flimsy, poorly fitting outboard flush muffs, I finally found a gem with this set. These ears are a cut above the rest, blending smart design with rugged durability that makes engine testing a breeze. I need them very rarely (for a dinghy), and in between uses they are not stored in the best of conditions (on a sail boat). What sets these muffs apart is their versatility, fit, and ease of use. The rectangular pads pivot from horizontal to vertical, adapting seamlessly to various water intake designs. They snap on with just the right amount of tension: secure enough to stay put without slipping, yet not so tight that you’re fighting to attach them. I very much like this style better than the circular muffs. It can pivot to vertical from the horizontal position to match up to most of the water intakes you hook it up too. It's tight but not so tight it's a pain to get on. The rubber doesn't slide around once you get it in place and the hose connection doesn't pop out of it very easily so that makes it top quality in my opinion. I've had tons of these through the years that are cheap and just don't last or don't even work. This is the best set I've tried so far and it was priced pretty much what I paid for all the other ones that were not good 🤷. I work on outboards so I've used these on multiple engines- a Yamaha f115, a Suzuki df150, a Yamaha 250 SHO and a Mercury 115 4-stroke and it worked and fit awesome with each one of them and yes even on the Yamaha 250 SHO it actually is able to be secured to the nose cone high speed pick up and provide plenty of water ... show more

Worked ok, but did not grab suction on my boat Motor. Probably need a rectangular shape to get better grip for shomax 175. If it had been a different shape, i think it would have worked well. Easy to attach, decent quality, great for the price!

I’ve been using these Boat Motor Muffs on my Suzuki 150 outboard, which is mounted to my duck boat. Let me tell you—this thing has seen it all. I run the motor through just about everything: muddy water, weeds, shallow backwaters—you name it. Needless to say, regular flushing is a must to keep things running smoothly. These muffs are exactly what I needed. They fit securely and provide solid water flow to the engine. I hook them up right after every trip and give the motor a good flush—it’s become part of my routine. Simple to attach, and the hose adapter works perfectly. This is the product I was seeking with a bonus. I needed to replace my well used outboard flush adapter commonly called “rabbit ears”. After 15 years the rubber had hardened and would no longer properly seal. I ordered this new device and am very pleased with its construction quality. It fits both my 9.9hp and 150hp Honda outboards perfectly. It is especially handy for the small 9.9hp because that motor does not have a convenient built-in hose adapter. I have included pictures of the rabbit ears on both motors. Unit completely covers the intake ports with a good snug fit. Tension is perfect. The bonus is that this unit includes a quick connect fitting that matches the ones I have on all my garden hoses. Super convenient! A good buy. Gets the job done. ... show more

I'm not an outboard mechanic or anything but simply do my own maintenance. Needed some muffs to run the engine for brief periods while out of the water. These muffs work great. I think. They are my first pair. But provide enough water to keep engine cool.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with this rectangular "Boat Motor Muffs". It fit my 100 HP Honda and did the job. I think the rectangular muffs are preferable to the round model. You might need a different size / brand for larger OB engines? Muffs are an essential tool for any outboard... I do recommend this product. ... show more
