The light is well constructed in some areas but missing the mark in others. The body of the light is aluminum and impressively strong. The lens on the light is plastic and is gasketed to protect from water infiltration. The clamp is a great idea for the light, so you can use it just about anywhere. The positive and negative clamps can be removed by unscrewing the inline connector that is also gasketed to protect from water. There is a cigarette lighter plug that be added to the power cord in place of the clamp set by screwing it into the connecter that was made available when the clamp set was unscrewed. The con with this light would be concerns of the power wires are small in diameter. Where the power supply wires contact the positive and negative clamps, there is uninsulated wire exposed on both clamps. You must use extra caution to be sure the wire doesn't touch each other. Additionally, the wires will be subjected to moving and twisting where they contact the clamps. There is just a 1/4" length of wire that is soldered to the clamp with no "strain relief" to keep the wires secure to the clamps. I would note that the light is bright and would be very helpful for launching and retrieving a boat after dark.

I bought this based on the reviews others gave it and because it was what I was looking for. Something I could easily put on and take off of my boat and something that didn't run off of batteries like AA. It has a quality and sturdy clamp that I can attach right to my trolling motor and more than enough cable to reach my trolling motor battery. The flight seems plenty bright but haven't tested at night yet. I'm very pleased with this purchase and it was really reasonable priced.

Light seems to be sturdy, and well made for that price. The light is very bright and has a good balance between spot and flood angles for multiple use. It clips well, overall excellent value and strongly recommended. I have not though tested for a long time or rust resistance

The media could not be loaded. Ive accidentally fully submerged this light underwater and accidentally drug it down the road because it fell off of my boat. Having the alligator clips and a 12v plug for this light is a nice touch as well.

This light is plenty bright and wide for many situations to include bringing in a boat on a dark night and turning the fish cleaning table into operating room brightness. The stiff clamp is strong enough to hold in spite of banging waves and vibration. The base also swivels and could be mounted without the clamp via through bolting. Incredibly, an adjusting wrench is included. The clamp can also serve as a base to make the light free standing. While the light can be clamped or bolted, the small size makes it easy to hold while directing activities. The very long cord is sturdy and the cigarette lighter end looks good. Not as good, however, is the battery clamp extension because of the single point solder connections (see above). If the clamps are used a lot, say in a duck blind all season, it’s almost certain that the small solder connections are probably going to fail. The solution is easy; cut a 1” piece of #10 woven wire. Solder the light wires into that. Then crimp that into the clamp handle and solder it. For those not so equipped, tape up where the wire goes into the clamp to stabilize it. If using the cigarette lighter end no need to think about the clamps. This is a flexible quality metal light that outdoorsmen and women may want to consider.

This light is pretty bright, and you will not be missed if this is mounted on your boat. I have used it on my dock (on the Gulf of Mexico) to attract fish and on my boat when mooring. The clamp is very strong and made of metal, as is the housing for the light. The light is adjustable and has a very efficient heatsink that dissipates heat very well. The cord is ample and comes with two options for connecting it to a power source; the first is alligator clips, and the second is a plug to insert in a 12V power socket (cigarette lighter). The light has an IP rating of 65. For those who don't know, IP stands for ingress protection. The first number is for dust (solids) intrusion and only goes up to six. The second is for water infiltration and goes from one to nine. IP 65 means the unit is dustproof with a tolerance to withstand water jets aimed at it. It should withstand being in the rain, but it should not be left where running water can flow over it (waves coming over the gunwale); the clamp makes it easy to take the light inside or reposition it if there is a chance of water intrusion. My light has tolerated being in several rainstorms in Florida and the salt air; I am considering getting a white one too.
