So the system itself is easy to put together and install setting it up with the boat cover on and making sure it’s working properly isn’t exactly the easiest. I had other systems and they would break because of being made with plastic. This isn’t made with plastic so I can see it lasting long time. I’ve gotten a little bit of rain and it’s worked. The real test will be when we get snow and I’ll give an update then. Until then I definitely recommend this item to help keep water off the boat cover, should have bought this one to begin with ... show more

Our older pontoon boat came with 2 supports that were plastic. Of course one of them broke in the middle of the pole when we went to put the cover on last month for winter storage, leaving only the one support. So, I ordered these. Well, we didn’t put them in right away … we had a few rain storms and the last plastic support broke from the weight of the water collected. After pumping the water out we pulled the cover back installed these babies with the tie downs and added one more tie down to each because 3 didn’t give the quite the stability it needed. Put the cover back on and an extra heavy tarp for good measure and it’s been 2 weeks with more rain and wind. All is well! Of course I tried to tell my husband we should have put them in the boat when they came… would have saved us trouble…🤷♀️ He got soaked with cold water while trying to empty some of the water out. I laughed 😂 ... show more

You need to weigh these down at the base if you’re going to use them. Also the straps are not useful unless you have perfect setup.

I bought 2 of these I really like the top part of these support’s but the bottom part of the support is made of very thin plastic and won’t hold up. I ended up putting tent pole support anchors in my floor of my boat and it works fine now. But watch out the tubing is a little thin I hope it holds up so far so good ... show more

If you live in a region with snow, the two pole system is the only way to go. My boat is a 16’ tiller and I thought I could get away with using the one pole system, but I could tell right away that there would be sagging and pooling.
