Top Amazon Reviews

  • Quintessential Chelsea, comfortable and classic
Size: 6 UK/9 M US Color: Shiraz
I did a LOT of research on these boots. When spending $200 on a pair of shoes, I try to make sure they're really the ones I want and that they'll fit as expected. I know that ordering thru Amazon, returns aren't *that* arduous, but I really don't like doing exchanges thru the mail. Anyway, I normally wear a size 9 in women's shoes/boots. I read reviews, but they seemed equally to say the boots were too small, too large, or just right. I looked at Blundstones website and their size chart, and according to them, I was a size 10. But I was unsure about how accurate that was because this style of boot is a Women's boot, rather than the unisex style of most of their boots. I wrote them an email, and they recommended going with my normal size of 9 for this style of boot. I ultimately ended up looking up stores that sell Blundstone in my area and trying on various pairs, though no store around me had this particular style and color, I was able to make sure that size 9 was the right size for me. I have fairly narrow feet and slim ankles, so the higher shaft and regular size 9 worked perfectly. A couple of things: 1. Blundstone half sizes indicate WIDTH, not length, so a 9 1/2 will have a wider toe box, but not added length. 2. This style of boot has a higher shaft, and it is narrow. That is what I wanted, because I like ankle support, but it can make them a little difficult to put on, especially if you have any hand/wrist/ankle mobility issues. A shoehorn helps. There are also several styles that have lower shafts and wider openings that may be better for people with wider feet/ankles. I know some reviwers remarked that the top of the boot cut into their ankles, which clearly should not happen. 3. The boots were comfortable for me from the first wear, but the arch support is not perfect, and I put a gel insole in mine (I had enough room in the boot to do that) and now they are extremely comfortable. In fact, I have been wearing them nearly every day. They're not super warm for being out in the snow, but a good pair of warm socks keeps them comfortable. They are waterproof. 4. I love these boots, they are the quintessential Chelsea that I was looking for. They have broken in nicely, and they're not too heavy. My recommendation is that if you're unsure about sizing, go on Blundstone's website and look for a store near you that sells them - there are some in nearly every state - and try them on. Most stores have at least one or two styles, so you can see how they fit and how easy or hard they are to get on and off. Then you can order with confidence and not have to worry about exchanges! ... show more

  • Amazing boots that require strong calves
Size: 9.5 Color: Antique Brown
I ADORED these boots. Like, I wore them EVERYDAY on the job, which requires about 50% of my time outside walking our huge job site. I went up a half size—usually wear a women’s US 9, but got a 9.5, just in case—after reading all the reviews about doing so. Glad I did, because after adding my SmartFeet orthotics, they fit HEAVENLY. Sure, they took a little getting used to, as all new boots do. Sure, the felt a little snug when I first wore them. But they were my DREAM work boots: comfortable, practical, non-slip, and stylish. I even received dozens of compliments from strangers about how good they look. That is, until I developed a calf cramp from wearing them ALL the time for the first month I owned them. You see, my calves are average-sized, but I haven’t consistently worn heels in ages, and even the simple 1” heel on these beautiful boots worked out my calves to the point that developed a severe calf cramp and I had to sub them out for my regular work boots. Then, a day later, after massaging the calf cramp and icing it, rubbing mentholated cream on it, and even bathing it with bath jets on it, as I was making my girls’ bed that night, I stood on my tiptoes and felt an excruciating POP!! My calf calf pain went from a 5 on the pain scale to an immediate 10! I collapsed on the bed, screaming in agony. My husband stood there for a moment, laughing even, because he thought I’d simply stubbed my toe. Nope. After a doctor’s visit, and a referral for an MRI, I was diagnosed with a minor rupture of my Plantaris Tendon. This tendon wraps up and under the calf muscles, and although mine is not completely torn, I am now wearing a stabilizing boot for the next several weeks, am on light duty at work, and am attending weekly physical therapy. These boots are officially the most expensive shoes I’ve ever owned. And I can’t even wear them now! And it’s too late to return them! Including the price I willingly paid for the boots, I’m now in the hole just shy of $1600, after all the doctors’ bills came through. So much for Christmas shopping! 😩😫 My advice: buy these boots! But ONLY if your calves are strong, and ONLY if you alternate wearing them if you must wear them while working upright and walking a lot, as I do. ... show more

  • Cute but don't buy if you have high arches
Size: 10 Color: Shiraz
I've had my eye on these boots for years and my husband bought them for me as a gift. But the instep is low. I tried several sizes but it didn't help. This style does not work for me with my high arches.

  • I’m not mad at them. I should be, but I’m not.
Size: 7.5 Color: Antique Brown
I think I’m going to end up living in these boots— • I love how they look • They accommodate my wider forefoot • They’re comfortable through my commute and workday • My podiatrist approves • They’re v obvs well-made • And also... i can’t seem to get them off? • Like i seriously can’t seem to get them off. Send help. I have Prime, so can u send it quickly But I’m also not mad about it. So. 🤷🏻♀️ . . . Longtime Chelsea / workboot person here. Decided to trade up and try a more femme silhouette. I know blundstone, i ordered half a size up to accommodate my wider forefoot, and these fit like a glove, but with room for socks. Which would probs be fine on a hand, but on my foot, the donning and doffing is a f*cking wrestling match. They are amazing to walk and work in, & I’ve gotten crazy compliments for the brief time that i’ve had them. but i literally fight my way in and out in a comically inelegant way at home. Against my wishes, my bf watched this happen the other day and i don’t think either of us has fully recovered. They’ll stretch out, right? If i take them to counseling, our relationship will improve, right? I want us to fit without the fight, is that so wrong? So. We’re a work-in-progress, but at least we look hella good in the meantime. ... show more
