I have researched a bunch of these. Most at the 50 dollar price point but I bought this one because it works for both mineral and chemical sunscreen. This is my face with just zinc sunscreen and the others I looked at have grey for mineral so this is worth the upgrade to me. You can see very clearly that my sunscreen is opaque. I also like that it has a battery indicator. Win win. The only downside is the money and the fact that you are exposing your face to UV light . I only use this when I have sunscreen on and glasses to protect my eyes. Was using my polarized but I think my eclipse glasses will be better. If you wear chemical only and want to save the money you would be fine with a less expensive one but this one is great IMHO.

Highly recommend! This UV light device is fantastic for making sure you get complete coverage of SPF on your face, neck, and ears. It keeps its charge for a longer than expected period - going on day 12 with one charge. Its basically nothing to assemble, and the light is ideal for highlighting areas that require SPF application or reapplication, as well as evaluating your makeup overall. I love that you can use it as a regular mirror, as well.

I think most people in their 30s start to realize they should have listened to their parents about wearing sunscreen when they were younger. I’ve seen a noticeable change in my facial skin since I turned 30 and ordered this mirror because I was curious to see if 1) the mirror could show me sun damage I maybe wasn’t able to see with my naked eye and 2) it really could identify areas of your face that were adequately protected once sunscreen was applied. Long story short: it definitely works. It’s like the opposite of a filter; imagine if the mirror from Snow White finally told the queen what he really thought of her. Not only does it darken sun spots and freckles that appear very faintly on your skin, it also shows freckles that I had absolutely no idea were there until they popped up on the camera – once I looked really closely at my skin in the regular mirror, I was able to see the spots that were so clear on the UV camera. I also had my dad and my grandmother try it, and it’s absolutely incredible how the UV camera is able to pick up the faintest spots on your face. I also tested a swipe of SPF 50 sunscreen on my chin and sure enough, it showed up as dark as shoe polish on the UV camera. I was absolutely blown away that something that sounds as gimmicky as a UV mirror would actually work. I’m not 100% sure of how much the tech justifies a $129 price tag, but it delivers on all its claims and honestly it's motivated me to start wearing sunscreen. It’ll also be helpful to be able to monitor its effectiveness throughout the day as it wears off. This mirror may not be able to reverse sun damage, but it will definitely be a valuable tool in preventing further damage! For reference, my photos show the area of my entire chin where I applied sunscreen a few hours earlier, with a single stripe down the very middle of my chin of freshly applied sunscreen to show how it actually can differentiate between fresh coverage and coverage that has worn off, along with all of my freckles/sunspots that are not normally visible. Tried to figure out clearest way to capture the screen in my photos, but just trust me when I say it’s even more detailed in person.

This is my 2nd type of these Smart UV mirrors. Unfortunately I cannot find the first one, believe I lost it on vacation. So when I received the opp to review free per the Amazon Vine Program, of course I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had some close calls with raised dark spots on my face, which turned out to be benign. But I also have severe hyperpigmentation due to sun damage. I never set outside with out a high strength of SPF and am diligent with my family as well. This tool is super easy to operate. Instructions are clear as well as the image on the screen. (Excuse my scary image). This is extremely solid and well made. It’s also portable and can be carried anywhere - it’s similar in size to my iPhone 11 Pro. I no longer carry around a small mirror since I now have this in my purse. It’s pricey, although it’s currently here in Amazon for $99 marked down from $129. The last one my husband purchased was expensive also (he’s not very happy w/me). But the price compared to what this could save you I’m not only medical bills makes this worth it. I can’t speak highly about this enough - this could be a lifesaver!

This is like a High-Tech make up mirror ($100), it's a size of a foldable phone and UV camera for you to see how much you have abused your face. The mirror is nice, functional, and good size to carry it around in your purse. What's fun, I guess you can call it fun as to take a photo using Smart UV camera to see all / if any sun damage you have with you and friends. I did that once and everyone was depressed after words LOL.

This is a great UV light device to ensure your SPF is covering your face (and neck and ears) entirely. It holds a charge for a prolonged period (mine has been working daily off its initial charge for two weeks), is super easy to set up, and the light is perfect not only for checking SPF coverage (lighter areas show where you need to apply or reapply SPF) but for checking on your overall makeup (one side of the compact is a large mirror). Works great with my physical SPF and detecting any missed spots. Highly recommend.
